Muppet Poster Wallpaper

UK company 1art1  has a series of large Muppet wallpaper posters.

This one is based off the image that appeared on  throw rugs and Disney Store's resalable bag for "The Muppets."

The giant wall size poster measures a staggering 80x35 inches and can be ordered here.

This next one features another hodgepodge of stock photos. Janice & Floyd jam while Piggy sunbathes, and Kermit admires images from the Kermitage Collection all on backdrop featuring Muppets signatures.

This poster also measures 80x35 inches and can be ordered here.

This poster featuring, Zoot, Kermit, Piggy, Floyd, Janice, and Animal, on a grayed out vintage illustration of the Electric Mayhem. It measures 79x35 and can be ordered here.

This last one is truly odd. There's a excellent, widely seen, Electric Mayhem shot on a Muppet signature background, but  for some reason they added a 90's Piggy behind them for no reason, and she's way too large.

This one is that largest of them all. Measuring 80x71 inches and can be ordered here.

Kermit has become Ker-monster (a Frankenstein spoof), Miss Piggy is The Ghoulfriend (the Bride of Frankenstein), Fozzie is Wocka Wocka Werebear (a take on the Wolf Man), Gonzo is Noseferatu (a version of Dracula), and Clifford is the Muck Monster (resembling the Creature from the Black Lagoon).

Archaia "Storyteller", "Tale" and "Turkey Hollow" Novelization News!

We have an update to our post about Archaia's upcoming Henson novelizations.
According to Nerdist, the upcoming Storyteller graphic novel will be a reprint of Archaia's 2011 graphic novel along with new "illustrations from Hannah Christenson and Eva Eskelinen.... and photos from The Jim Henson Archives that show a behind the scenes look at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop during the making of The Storyteller."

Here's a look a the updated cover art.

But that's not all, folks. Archaia is also working on turning Jim Henson and Jerry Juhl’s unproduced script for the special, “The Musical Monsters of Turkey Hollow”  in to a graphic novelization similar to what they did for "Tale of Sand."  Muppet Show Comic Book illustrator Roger Landrige will be handling the artwork this time, with a release date sometime this November.

Archaia’s description of the book is as follows:
Turkey Hollow is a picturesque town where hundreds of years ago, unbeknownst to the citizens, a meteorite landed nearby a small brook on the outskirts of town. One Thanksgiving, while young Timmy Henderson practices his guitar, he’s accompanied by strange, unearthly, musical sounds. That meteorite wasn’t a rock at all but an egg holding seven furry, goofy monsters, each with a unique musical sound. After the initial shock, Timmy befriends the lovable creatures following him all around Turkey Hollow. Not everyone takes a liking to the visitors though and it’s up to Timmy to protect his new friends and save Thanksgiving!

Thanks to our friends at ToughPigs for the info.

And speaking of "Tale of Sand," Archaia will release "Jim Henson's Tale of Sand: The Original Screenplay"July 8th with new artwork by Ramon Pérez by itself, and as a box set with the original "Tale of Sand" graphic novel. You can pre-order your copy from the links above.

                                                                       Box set cover art

Archaia has really stepped up their collaboration with the Henson Company and I can't wait to see what it yields next!

Throwback Thursday: Jim Henson's City Critters

If you watched the season finale of Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge this week, then you saw a glimpse of Brian's Henson's office, and all the great stuff therein.

Among the Labyrinth and Muppet busts,
the Dark Crystal sculptures, the Baby Sinclair plush, and the multiple props around the room were these colorful little guys on his desk.

Can you see them?
How about now?

Many of you are probably wondering, "What are those things?"

Well, we're here to help! They're from
Jim Henson's City Critters, a line of vinyl figures MINDStyle produced in 2007. Each figure was based on a early design by Jim Henson and was blind boxed so you din't know exactly which figure you had until you opened the box.

8 figures were released, and as far as I can tell, only 1 had a name - Fearzog, if any one knows the official names of the other 7 critters, let us know!

This sun bean man was also used on occasion around this time as part of the Jim Henson Company logo.

The designs were also released as a line of clothing and accessories called  "Jim Henson's Designs," but that's a throwback for another Thursday.
