Muppets Mayhem Easter Eggs: Track 1!

The Muppets Mayhem has been out for a couple weeks now and is filled with many hidden and not so hidden Easter eggs for fans to discover.

There are so many in fact that we're going track by track (episode by episode) to help you spot them.

Track 1: “Can You Picture That?”

The Electric Mayhem’s contract ‘Standard Famous Rock Star Contract’ is a call back to the ‘Standard Rich and Famous Contract’ from The Muppet Movie and The Muppets.

The "Standard Famous Rock Star Contract’ is dated January 7th, 1975. The Electric Mayhem made their first appearance on The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence. This was the second The Muppet Show pilot and was filmed on December 10-16, 1974 and aired March 19, 1975. Presumably, Wax Town Records must have heard about their performance and wanted to get them a contract before there was a bidding war.

Moog (Tahj Mowry) is named after Dr. Robert Moog and the synthesizer he invented.

Instead of "Say Cheese", Zoot says "Say coo-coo-ca-choo" which is a refence to a lyric in The Beatles song "I am the Walrus."

Nora (Lily Signh) works for Wax Town Records. This a call back to the early days of records when they were originally made on wax cylinders.

Waxtown Records is sandwiched between the Pants & More and Pants 4Le$$ stores.

Nora shreds a contract for "The Art Garfunkel Project" a reference to Art Garfunkel's solo a career.

The search engine Nora uses is called "Searchee" and has "googly eyes"

The search results have info about the band, it's members and links to Wikipedia, Who's Touring Where?, Rock Bible, and a section of questions including "Who is the Electric Mayhem", "Why is the Electric Mayhem", "Has the Electric Mayhem ever been in jail," and " Not really a question per se, but the Electric Mayhem stole my cat."

The video Nora watches about The Electric Mayhem includes actual clips from the bands performances at the Macy's Day Parade, Christmas at Rockefeller Center, and the Outside Lands musical festival.

The advance the band received is $420,000. "420" is a code word for marijuana and it pops up throughout the show. 420 is also the address of the house that the band paints.

Lips is wearing a "Tutter Street Trumpet Company" shirt, this is a reference to Tutter from Bear in The Big Blue House who was performed by Lip's current performer Peter Linz.

While the Electric Mayhem is repainting the house, they recreate their signature song ‘Can You Picture That’ from The Muppet Movie, which they also sang while painting Fozzie's Studebaker.

During their concert at the shack, the band can be heard playing “Jungle Boogie,” which they played for a YouTube video promoting the 2015’s ABC series The Muppets.

When they play Joe Cocker's "Have a Little Faith In Me," the band is joined by a gospel choir, similar to when they a choir accompanied them on Cocker's "With a Little Help from my Fiends" during their live performances at Outside Lands, the Hollywood Bowl, and O2.

Zoot appears at the end of the each episode with a different camera joke. This is a refence to Zoot originally closing each episode of The Muppet Show with different saxophone bit. The episodes in syndication, DVD, and Disney+, have all been replaced with the same generic shot since the show is no longer released through ATV/ ITC.

The end production card features Adam F. Goldberg and Jeff Yorkes as kids showing their love of the Muppets and Jim Henson.
