Roosevelt Franklin Meets The Peetes!
For those unaware, actress Holly Robinson Peete is the daughter of Sesame Street's original Gordon, Matt Robinson.
As a child, her father not only brought her and her brother to the set, she appeared on the show as a child.
On her Hallmark Channel reality show Meet The Peetes, Holly and her brother Matt got visit their father's old stomping grounds and ran into an old friend... Muppet Roosevelt Franklin who was written for and perform by her father.

Muppets Take The New Zealand Mint!
As we first showed you at Toy Fair, The New Zealand Mint will be releasing a set of Muppet coins this year.
Below is the official description:
This most sensational Disney’s The Muppets 1oz Silver Coin shows happy-go-lucky Kermit the Frog in all his green glory, as well as being engraved in action! Muppet Babies and Sesame Street Win Daytime Emmy Awards!
The 46th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were streamed live on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter last night from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
\Unfortunately, Esme & Roy and Muppet Babies both lost Outstanding Preschool Children's Animated Series to Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood
However, Sesame Street took home 3 awards: Outstanding Multiple Camera Editing, Outstanding Sound Mixing and Outstanding Preschool Children's Series.
Ben Diskin won Outstanding Performer in a Preschool Animated Program for playing Gonzo on Disney' s Muppet Babies.
The In Memoriam segment featured tributes to many people who worked on Sesame Street over the years including scenic designer Bob Phillips Jr, guest star Carol Channing, songwriter Carol Hall, and Molly the mail carrier herself, Charlotte Rae:
The academy also paid tribute to Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary

During the creative arts award ceremony the night before Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Alan Muraoka, performed with Joely Fisher, though there currently is no footage online.

Lelend Gets New Kermit Water Tower!
Drivers in Leland Mississippi will now be greeted by one of the town's most famous celebrities: Kermit the Frog.
LELAND, MS -- When the City of Leland was awarded a $1.2 million infrastructure grant through the assistance of Delta Regional Authority and South Delta Planning and Development District nearly three years ago, city leaders knew that the best use of the grant funds would be to build a new water tower on the northeast side of town.
“Our water infrastructure is old and only getting older,” said Leland Mayor Kenny Thomas. “We were very fortunate to be able to demonstrate that need to our legislators who helped us with funding for the new water tower. And, since, we have to paint it anyway, we thought it would be great to put our most famous celebrity on the sides of the tower.”
Once completed, the new water tower, located near the intersection of Highway 82 and new Highway 61, will feature the large, friendly green face of Kermit the Frog, designating Leland as the Birthplace of Kermit the Frog.

“As someone who was spawned here, I feel a close connection to Leland. And, of course, as a frog, I feel a very close connection to water,” said Kermit the Frog when asked his thoughts on the new Leland water tower. “So, it’s a double honor having my picture on the water tower where I can welcome people—and amphibians—to one of my favorite places in the world.”
