Throwback Thursday: Nanco Muppet Plush

Beginning in the year 2000, Nanco produced several Muppet plush toys as prizes for carnival games.

I recently spotted these at a thrift store along with promotional buttons for Bear in The Big Blue House and The Country Bears.

Throwback Thursday: Muppet Monster Adventure

If you saw our post yesterday about the passing of director Michael Gottlieb, then you know he was also a producer on the video game "Muppet Monster Adventure." 

In the game, released in 2000 for Sony's original PlayStation gaming system, Robin the Frog teams up with Pepe the King Prawn, Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker to save five Muppets who have been turned into monsters at Baron Petri von Honeydew's castle. Kermit has become Ker-monster (a Frankenstein spoof), Miss Piggy is The Ghoulfriend (the Bride of Frankenstein), Fozzie is Wocka Wocka Werebear (a take on the Wolf Man), Gonzo is Noseferatu (a version of Dracula), and Clifford is the Muck Monster (resembling the Creature from the Black Lagoon).
