Happy 2024 With (Somewhat) New (& Old) Calendars!

 Happy 2024! A new year means new Henson calendars. 

Sadly, once again this year there wasn't a new Muppet calendar. The good news is there is  "new" Labyrinth calendar and an old Muppet will work again!

Once again, the Labyrinth calendar is only somewhat new this year. 

While the main images are the same as past years, the illustrations surrounding the calendar itself are new.

This year the Labyrinth calendar also comes with poster by Mondo:

Again, unfortunately there wasn't a 2024 Muppet calendar, but if you have the Muppet's 1996  advertising parodies calendar, it will align with 2024, so feel free to use it while watching Muppet Treasure Island, reruns of Muppets Tonight, and listening to the “Macarena."

New Year (Some) New Calendars!

A new year means new Henson calendars.

If you have or seen our posts about the last few years of Labyrinth calendars you may notice that yes the images continue to be the same. This year however, the calendar backgrounds have been changed and it includes a poster originally produced by Mondo.

2022 Henson Calendars!

2022 just began and, as usual, we have our first new Muppet merchandise of the year (yes we know they were technically rereleased last year). 

First up is the 2002 Sesame Street calendar "Sayings From Your Sesame Street Friends" published by Abrams.

Once again Insight Editions has a "new" Jim Henson's Labyrinth calendar for 2022. 

Jim Henson's Labyrinth 2022 Wall Calendar features images from the iconic Jim Henson movie, now celebrating its 36th anniversary.

I say "new" because it's the same calendar they've been releasing for years with the same layout and images just in a different order.

I think Insight must really hate October, because each year they continually have the junk lady representing it. 

It's such a shame because Insight has been releasing so many excellent Henson books over the last few year - featuring all kinds of rare images - so it's rather mind boggling why they continue to release this same Labyrinth calendar year after year. It's like the people in charge of their calendars are stuck in their own Labyrinth or something. 

Insight, if you're reading this, put down the peach and pick up a copy of Labyrinth: The Ultimate Visual History where you'll find MANY other fantastic images. 

If this all sounds familiar it's because we said something similar last year, 2020, and 2019 to no avail. Anyway...

New Year ... Same Calendars AGAIN?!

Just like we reported last year, it looks like Universe Publishing, is releasing (almost) the same Labyrinth calendar they've released the last 3 years!

Well, I guess since MOST of the images are recycled, it's fitting they added the Junk Lady this year.

One nice touch that makes the 2021 stand out out from its predecessors, is the use of Brian Froud's concept art around the months:

Which is a nice touch compared to the generic maze accompanied by a thumbnail of concept art:

Labyrinth 2020 

The good news is, while Labyrinth is basically the same, they've replaced The Dark Crystal calendar with one showcasing The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

With the return of Fraggle Rock and the cancellation of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, who wants to take bets we'll see another very similar Labyrinth calendar next year, but instead of a Dark Crystal calendar, we'll see a recycled version of Universe's Fraggle Rock calendar instead?

I for one hope at least it features photos of Fraggle Rock reboot!

Sesame Street 2021 Calendar!

Are you done with 2020 and looking forward to 2021?

New Year ... Same Calendars?!

With the dawning of a new year comes the promise of a new calendar. Unfortunately, when it comes to Henson related calendars, 2020 seems to be a rerun rather then something new and fresh.

For the first time in many many years there's no new Muppet calendar. Not even one in the UK, which is very sad and disappointing. 

Insight Editions did release new Labyrinth and Dark Crystal calendars, but as you can see see they just changed the date and reordered the photos.

A New Year, New Calendars!

The new year has begun and it's time to update the calendar on your wall. 

First, is the previously mentioned Muppet calendar by Danilo.

You won't find it at your local mall kiosk, though. Like last year, the Muppet calendar is only available from the UK. However, Amazon has it available for fans in the US.

The Dark Crystal has new calendar for 2019. 

You can find it online through many through many retailers including Amazon.

There is also 2019 Labyrinth calendar.

It's hard to call this a "new" calendar though, as it features the same images as last year, but with different designs and graphics around them.

Finally, we have the "2019 Sesame Street Activity Calendar: Monthly Fun for the Whole Family!" which offers a new family friendly activity each month.
