RIP Carol Channing (1921 - 2019)

Broadway and Muppet Show guest star Carol Channing has died.

Channing was known for her role in the stage productions of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Hello, Dolly! for which she won a Tony Award for Best Actress. Another Special Tony Award came in 1968, followed by a Lifetime Achievement Award Tony in 1995. We remember her best though for her 4th season appearance on The Muppet Show.

She later appeared on Sesame Street in 1984, singing "Hello, Sammy!" a parody of her famed Broadway tune with Sammy the Snake.

 Carol Channing was 97.

Pin 6 - The Muppet Movie (40 years)

The most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, Muppetational movie the world had ever seen hit theaters in 1979, marking Jim Henson’s zany creations’ big-screen debut! The Muppets had been a smash hit on television, but were an unknown quantity on the big screen at that point, and the smash success of The Muppet Movie would lead to seven more theatrically released Muppet movies. The enduring legacy of Kermit’s road trip from the swamp to Hollywood can be encapsulated in the classic song “Rainbow Connection,” which remains one of the most iconic songs in Muppets—and film—history.
To get the pin set you need to buy a D23 Gold Membership which is $99.99/year.

Thanks to Brian Sullivan for the heads up.

You won't find it at your local mall kiosk, though. Like last year, the Muppet calendar is only available from the UK. However, Amazon has it available for fans in the US.

The Dark Crystal has new calendar for 2019.

You can find it online through many through many retailers including Amazon.

There is also 2019 Labyrinth calendar.

It's hard to call this a "new" calendar though, as it features the same images as last year, but with different designs and graphics around them.

You can find it online through many through many retailers including Amazon.

Finally, we have the "2019 Sesame Street Activity Calendar: Monthly Fun for the Whole Family!" which offers a new family friendly activity each month.
