Sonia Manzano, Rosita, and Cookie Monster "Roll" to the White House!

The White House announced the full program of activities for the 2022 White House Easter Egg Roll including Sonia Manzano, and Sesame Street Live's Rosita and Cookie Monster.

The White House announced today the full program of activities for the 2022 White House Easter Egg Roll, a tradition dating back to 1878. A teacher for more than 30 years, First Lady Jill Biden created this year’s event theme, “EGGucation!,” with the South Lawn to be transformed into a school community, full of fun educational activities for children to enjoy.

In addition to the time-honored traditions of rolling and hunting eggs, this year’s White House Easter “EGGucation” Roll will also feature a School House Activity Area, Reading Nook, Talent Show, Field Trip to the Farm, Picture Day, a Physical “EGGucation” Zone, a Cafetorium and more.

Among the featured celebrities and walk around characters are PBS KIDS Series Creator (Alma’s Way), Children’s Book Author and former Sesame Street character, Sonia Manzano, 
Sesame Street Live will be performing, and Rosita and Cookie Monster will be walking around after. 

This year’s event will be broken into five sessions, beginning at 7:30 AM ET and end at 6:30 PM ET. Follow along with the White House Easter “EGGucation” Roll festivities with #EasterEggRoll and #EGGucation, and the official @White House, @POTUS, @FLOTUS social media accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

RIP Gilbert Gottfried (1955-2022)

Sad news to report as comedian Gilbert Gottfried has died.

Gottfried was known for his deliberately loud and obnoxious stage persona and appeared on SNL,The Cosby Show, numerous guest appearances, stand up specials, and voiced Jaffar's parrot Iago in Disney's Aladdin. 

He made several Muppet-related appearances over the years including the 1994 
 "She Drives Me Crazy" music video;

as Kermit's "date" on the Randy Quaid episode of Muppets Tonight;

voiced a possum on the Bear in The Big Blue House episode "Welcome to Woodland Valley" 

Appears on Sesame Street episode 4182 as "Denny the Distractor" in 2009; 

and originated the voice of Jim Henson's Creature Shop animatronic AFLAC duck. 

Gilbert Gottfried was 67.

Sarah, Ludo, and Hoggle, seeking escape from the fetid Bog of Eternal Stench, happen upon a lone stone bridge. Before they can flee the Bog’s relentless odour, a shrill voice calls out to them “Stop! Stop I say!”

 

A loyal knight, brave to a fault, Sir Didymus joins Sarah, Ludo and Hoggle on their quest to save little Toby from the clutches of the Goblin King. This small yet feisty warrior is often the first to rush into an uncertain fight despite the odds, charging into battle atop his loyal, fur-covered, yet sometimes reluctant companion, Ambrosius.

Tahj Mowry Joins Muppets Mayhem!

Variety is reporting that Tahj Mowry has been added to the cast of Disney+'s upcoming Electric Mayhem series The Muppets Mayhem. 

Mowry will star as Gary “Moog” Moogowski. He is a lovably awkward die-hard superfan of the musical act, he loyally follows them from gig to gig. Moog is an avid audiophile who knows his way around a mixing board. Since he is a walking encyclopedia of the musical act, he’s often able to offer advice or guidance to Nora when she’s having trouble wrangling, communicating with or even understanding them. As Moog continues to work closely with Nora (Singh), he begins to hope that maybe she’ll see him less as a goofy sidekick and more as a leading man.
