SDCC 2018 Exclusives!

San Diego Comic-Con starts this week and if you're heading to the event there are a few Henson exclusives to keep an eye out for.

UCC Distributing will have a Constantine plush, for some reason called "Dark Kermit", at
booth #5610. These are limited to 2,000 pieces and limit of two per item per person.

Here is the official description:

SDCC 2018 The Muppets Dark Kermit (Constantine) 12” Plushie ($24.99): This Doppelgänger of Kermit the Frog may look like our adorable friend, but don’t be fooled – he really is the world’s most notorious criminal! He is featured in an all-black robe that may remind you of our friends from a galaxy far far away. Fans have been waiting for a Dark Kermit (Constantine) collectible and we are excited that the wait is finally over. Limited to 2,000 pieces.

Speaking of "Dark" Archaia will have not one, but two exclusive Beneath the Dark Crystal #1 variant covers. 

The first cover is by Kelly Nichole Matthews and is limited to only 3,000 copies.

The second, by our friend Jay Fosgitt, is limited to only 250 copies!

If any of the SDCC posters remain, they’ll be sold online at mondotees.com at a later date.

Sesame Place Classic Character Slimey Plush!

A few years ago Sesame Place started releasing classic plush of fan favorite characters. First was the Two Headed Monster, followed by Herry Monster and last year it was the blue Yip Yip Martian.  

This years classic character plush is one of the smallest Muppets of all, Oscar's pal Slimey!

The larger than life 15.5" plush costs $26.95 and is available now at Sesame Place and on their website!

Muppet Holiday Gifts!

Must have been VERY good this year. She received the 1977 Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem poster by Scandecor!

Devon Polaski:

"It's Not Easy Being Green: And Other Things to Consider", The Muppets Comic Omnibus, and a Disney Parks Muppet figurine set.

Joseph Debly:
Will be not only be able to know when it's time to play the music with his new Accutime Kermit watch, he'll able to play it himself with his very own copy of Hal Leonard's sheet music book "Favorite Songs from Jim Henson's Muppets.

He also received Disney's "The Muppets Read-Along Storybook and CD", Little Brown Books' "Frogs Are Funny: The Most Sensational, Inspirational, Celebrational, Muppetational Muppets Joke Book EVER!", Just Play's Animal beanbag, a Palisade Uncle Deadly figure, and Kermit and Miss Piggy Christmas decorations!

Clayton Roederer:

Under his tree was a Manhattan Toy Boober Fraggle hand puppet, Diamond Select's Animal, Gonzo/Camilla, and Statler & Waldorf action figures, a black t-shirt with the Sesame logo in white, and Disney Store's Muppet figurine set. 

Sally BD:

Sesame Place Exclusive Blue Yip Yip Martian Puppet!

Each year Sesame Place releases a special limited plush as part of their classic character collection. 

This year it was the blue Yip Yip Martian! Unlike their previous character plush this one's also a puppet!

Unfortunately only place to get currently is in the park itself.

We rated this one of the year's best releases, and it's now available on Sesame Place's online store here!

It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie Re-Released!

It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie has been re-released on DVD this year with a new Kermit only cover.

The DVD features the same widescreen version of the TV movie and bonus features as the previous release.

It's currently on sale for $5 at Walmart.

Unfortunately it looks like only the DVD was re-released this year though it may still available at Amazon and other retallers online.

Last week the original crew of the Swinetrek returned for their first new adventure in 35 years. This week they're back again with another malodorous episode!

Funko's 25 Days of Christmas!

On one of the Days of Christmas, Funko gave to me, Super Grover and Animal Limited Edition Pop! figurines.

As part of their holiday promotion, Funko is releasing a new limited edition figure every day until Dec. 25. So far, two Muppet Pop! items have been released - flocked Super Grover and Animal.

Fraggle Rock Returns to HBO Tomorrow!

... well sorta. 

No, not new episodes, and so far it's not scheduled to air on actual "HBO", but the entire series has been remastered in HD!

The series will air on HBO Family beginning tomorrow at 4:30 PM EST and the remastering of the series was personally supervised by Brian Henson. 

Can't wait to see how the show looks in HD until 4:40 tomorrow? Well you're in luck, as all 96 episodes will be available on HBO GO (HBO's streaming service for subscribers) beginning at 6:00 AM!

Now you can take the magic of Fraggle Rock anywhere as long as you have HBO!

Muppet Stuff Charity Toy Donations - Please Donate to Toys For Tots!

As a blog about merchandise, this time each year we like to give something back and spread the magic of Jim Henson and the Muppets to those less fortunate. 

This year's donations include a selection of Diamond Select Muppet action figures and Minimates, and Funko Sesame Street Pop! figures. 

Toy's For Toys announced this week they've received less donations than in the past. If you have the means to do so please consider donating a toy or two to your locale Toys for Toys drop off location.

You can find locations at Toys R US, Five Below, and from the Toys For Toys website.

The last day to donate is this Friday.

The Return of Pigs In SPAAAAACE!

After nearly 35 years, the original crew of the Swinetrek have returned in their first new adventure!

The video was written and directed by Kirk Thatcher and produced in conjunction with soapbox studios.

We hope this is the first of many more to come!

"Sesame Street Live" Gets New Producer!

Feld Entertainment Inc. and Sesame Workshop have inked a partnership deal to develop Sesame Street live show tours.

Beginning next October, Feld Entertainment will produce and tour live Sesame Street productions in the U.S. The current Sesame Street Live! tour produced by VStar Entertainment Group will continue through the summer.

The company will build and rehearse Sesame Street shows at Feld Entertainment Studios. Feld’s team will execute local marketing and sales plans throughout North America. Additionally, Feld will develop a line of consumer products to enhance the live experience.

Kate Spade Officially Debuts Miss Piggy Line with #Missadventure Episode!

We recently told you that fashion designer Kate Spade was teaming up with Miss Piggy for a new line of high end accessories.

The line officially launched with Miss Piggy's Kate appearance in Kate Spade's webseries #MissAdventure. “To the top” features Miss Piggy and Zosia Mamet in the elevator at the Empire State Building.

Since the initial announcement, a few items have been added to the line including this $98 Miss Piggy keychain. No that's not a typo. A $98. Miss Piggy. KEYCHAIN. 

and this $378 tote bag (presumably $98 of that is for the keychain):
