UPDATE - River Horse's "The Dark Crystal" Card Game CANCELLED!

Three year after River Horse released a Labyrinth Card Game, they've now released a card game based on The Dark Crystal as well.

Update: Unfortunately, we received word from RiverHorse that the project was canceled.

The Dark Crystal Card Game includes 80 beautifully illustrated tarot-sized cards, divided into 24 Major Suit cards ('Vliyaya') and 4 14 Minor Suit cards ('Songs', 'Spirals', 'Swords,' and 'Scepters'). 

The simple core rules allow four players to have a quick, fun game, suitable for all the family. The advanced rules turn the game into a more sophisticated, highly tactical experience, more suitable for grown-ups.

 

The Dark Crystal Card Game arrives in comic stores in June / July and can be ordered online from Boardlandia and Toywiz.

The folks at River Horse games have found a new use for their Labyrinth Game pieces- chess pieces. 

Yes, that's right, we only first told you about it last month, but River Horse Studios Jim Henson's Labyrinth - Chess Set is now available. 

The set features Jareth and Sarah and the King and Queen and Ludo, Hoggle, Sir Didymus, and the Fireys as as the bishop, knight, rook, and pawns.

Coming Soon: The Dark Crystal Adventure Game!

As we told you about last December River Horse games has a new role player adventure game based The Dark Crystal.

Since then we now have a few more details and photos of the game. 

In the hardback book (Approx. 290+ full-color pages) you will find:

The Dark Crystal Adventure Game Coming 2021!

After the success of their RPG Labyrinth Adventure Game, River Horse announce they're working on a The Dark Crystal Adventure Game.

The game is being written by Janet Forbes of World Anvil and River Horse's Jack Caesar, who also worked on the Labyrinth Adventure Game. 

It will include a simple rules system and GM toolkit and a 100-scenes adventure, which can be played either with our rules, or any other rule-set you like. 

The accompanying book will be full of illustrations by Brian Froud, Johnny Frazer-Allen, Chris Caesar and others, and enriched many cool features like transparent pages, maps, foldouts, etc. 

No release date was announced, but expect The Dark Crystal Adventure Game sometime in 2021. 

"Ready, Steady, Worm!" Coming in 2021!

River Horse has a new game set in the world of Labyrinth "Ready, Steady, Worm!"

 

From River Horses Press release: 

Four worms enter, four worms leave, but only one worm can be the winner of this exciting race to the edge.

Get ready to collect gems and use Goblin tricks to tip the odds in your favor, and remember, the Goblin King can twist everything in an instant by spinning the walls and changing the entire board!

Worm racing is one of the grand past-times of the Labyrinth, enjoyed by goblins of all ages. It is mostly used to settle debates such as: “Who gets the last Snæfbutle?” “Which one of us gets to be called Smügle?” and “Did Pilch cheat last time we played Ready, Steady, Worm!?”

While there's no release date, "Ready, Steady, Worm!" will be available sometime in 2021.

New Dark Crystal Game Coming from River Horse!

River Horse is following up on their Labyrinth board game with one based on The Dark Crystal!

While no official word from Rover Horse has been released yet, Australian online retailer Popcultcha, not only announced the game - but has also said that it's already available for pre-order!

New Deluxe Labyrinth Game Pieces On The Way!

River Horse announced this week that in addition to their Labyrinth goblin expansion pack, they will now also be offering deluxe game pieces of the main set of characters.

Each of the "deluxe" figures is three times the size of the regular game pieces and are the same size of the original sculpts. River Horse is touting these as "copies of the originals."

The set is currently only available for pre-order through River Horse and no street date (other than late 2017) for a general release has been given at this time.
