Coming in May "The Dark Crystal: Odyssey" Ballet!

As first announced in 2021, London's Royal Opera House will be putting on a ballet based on The Dark Crystal.

Based on Jim Henson’s iconic 1982 movie and featuring the startling performers of Company Wayne McGregor, The Dark Crystal: Odyssey is a new dance work for audiences of all generations, directed and choreographed by Wayne McGregor in association with The Jim Henson Company.

This magical coming-of-age story – the journey of a reluctant hero who must bring healing to his world - brings together a team of world-class collaborators with McGregor including artists Brian and Wendy Froud, composer Joel Cadbury, digital designers kontrastmoment, lighting designer Lucy Carter, dramaturg Uzma Hameed, costume designer Philip Delamore, face-and body-artist Alex Box, and puppets and props from The Jim Henson Company. Together they create a breathtaking, timeless myth of courage and self-sacrifice for all generations.

Tickets for "The Dark Crystal: Odyssey" go on sale January 25th and premieres May 13 at the Royal Opera House's Linbury Theatre in London.
