DoorDash's New Sesame Street Campaign and Super Bowl Ad!

DoorDash is teaming up with Sesame Street for a new marketing campaign. The food delivery service will have new commercials and content featuring the Sesame Street Muppets including on airing during the Super Bowl.

DoorDash will mark it's first Super Bowl with our Sesame Street friends in as part of a larger campaign to showcase its other services beside food delivery.

The first 60-second spot "The Neighborhood" will run during the first quarter of the game and stars actor/ rapper Daveed Diggs along side Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Grover.

"The Neighborhood" reimagines the clastic Sesame Street song "People in Your Neighborhood"  to highlight all the things that people can order from stores in their communities through DoorDash such as convenience stores, pharmacies and pet suppliers. The spot was directed by Academy Award winner Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind).

As part of their partnership, DoorDash will donate $1 to Sesame Workshop for every order it receives on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 7, up to $1 million.

DoorDash released the teaser below for their Super Bowl ad titled "Reading" feat. Daveed Diggs, and Cookie Monster:

"Daveed Diggs and Cookie Monster spend some time reading while they wait for their DoorDash order to arrive. When Cookie Monster learns that Daveed is expecting their takeout any moment, the blue Muppet decides he needs to finish his book right away. His voracious appetite takes over and he shoves the book straight into his mouth. Although the book has a picture of his beloved baked treats on the cover, Cookie Monster determines that it's a "tough read" when it doesn't break into a million crumbs like the real food."

DoorDash's Sesame Street campaign premiere's during the Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 7 on CBS.

Two of her statues were won for playing her most iconic role Phyllis Lindstrom on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its own spin-off Phyllis

In 2006, Leachman won an Emmy for best guest actress in a comedy for playing Malcolm in the Middle's cranky grandmother Ida.

Leachman also won an Academy Award for The Last Picture Show, and appeared in the Mel Brooks comediesYoung Frankenstein, High Anxiety and History of the World: Part I.

She will always be beloved my Muppet fans though, for guest starring in the second season of The Muppet Show (where the pigs took over show and replaced all the non-pig Muppets with pig versions) and as Miss Tracy, Lew Ord's secretary in The Muppet Movie

Kermit Adidas Stan Smith Sneakers!

Kermit The Frog is getting the Adidas "Stan Smith" treatment.

While the Muppets have partnered with Adidas for years, this is the first time the shoe company has used The Muppets on Stan Smith branded sneakers.

For those that don't know (including myself until I looked it up) Stan Smith, was an American tennis player who was active from the end of the 1960s to the beginning of the 1980's.

The first pair unveiled has small patches of green, Kermit's name, and small green outlined Kermit on one side:

While the second pair is unapologetic in its Muppetness and features various images of Kermit around the entire shoe.

Both Kermit Stan Smith sneakers will be available later tis year from adidas.com for $90 USD each.

RIP Larry King (1933-2021)

Radio and cable talk show host Larry King has died.

While best known hosting Larry King Live on CNN from 1985 to 2010, King appeared with the Muppets on several occasions.

In December 1993 he interviewed Kermit, Miss Piggy, Cheryl Henson and Frank Oz, as they promoted for Jim Henson: The Works. During the appearance, King even offered Kermit a spot guest hosting the show on April Fools Day, which Kermit later did.

King made a cameo in the Billy Crystal of Muppets Tonight where he tried to convince Bobo the Bear to let him in and later had Johnny Fiama and Sal Minella on his Christmas Eve 1996 show.

Miss Piggy's 1996 cookbook, "In the Kitchen with Miss Piggy" has King's recipe for "Favorite Tuna Health Salad."

He also appeared on the Sesame Street specials The Street We Live On and All-Star Alphabet as well as interviewing the letter W in Episode 4079.

The Muppet Show Coming to Disney+!

It’s time to play the music, it's time to light the light, it's time to meet the Muppets on Disney+ ... soon!

At long last Disney has made our wishes come true, The Muppet Show is coming to Disney+.
Last week The Muppets posted this very cryptic message on social media:

Many fans hoped that this meant the classic series would finally arriving on the Disney's streaming service, and today they made it official!

As part of the announcement Leigh Slaughter, Leigh Slaughter, Vice President of The Muppets Studio and Characters Strategy, Disney Live Entertainment posted this articlewhich includes some interesting info like "the Muppets have been a part of Walt Disney Imagineering for the last couple of years." Imagineering sounds like a step up from consumer products, which is where our fuzzy friends resided for their first few years under the mouse.

Below is the teaser announcement:

You'll notice that the announcement states that all 5 seasons of the show are coming - that means even season 4 and 5 which never made to DVD will be included as well.

What we don't know yet is whether these will be complete and uncut or if certain songs will be omitted for copyright reasons.

We'll all find out together when The Muppet Show starts streaming February 19 on Disney+.
