Puppeteer, voiceover artist, and huge Muppet fan Jayden Libran recently posted a video showcasing his massive Muppet collection. 

I've been collecting Muppets since age 4, back in 2003. I can't remember a time in my life prior to being interested in the Muppets, and so today I've decided to showcase the entire collection. From fresh new items to the old, rare, and unusual, this collection video is bound to be the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, Muppetational video you watch today. Enjoy!

Henson Company Developing Drama Series ‘All-Of-A-Kind Family’!

Deadline is reporting that the Jim Henson Company is developing All-of-a-Kind Family, a live-action one-hour drama series based on the collection of books by Sydney Taylor, about a hardworking Jewish family in Manhattan’s bustling Lower East Side in 1911.

Jordan Lewis Jaffe is attached to develop the project and will also serve as showrunner.

Published in 1951, All-of-a-Kind Family provided Jewish American children a way to see themselves and their experiences reflected in an authentic way. It follows five sisters—Ella, Henny, Sarah, Charlotte, and Gertrude— throughout a year of their childhood.

Taylor drew on her own family’s experiences which also inspired four additional books in the series which include More All-of-a-Kind Family, All-of-a-Kind Family Downtown, All-of-a-Kind Family Uptown, and Ella of All-of-a-Kind Family.

“My grandfather and his family immigrated from Hungary to New York City in 1922, during the same era as the All-of-a-Kind Family books. As a young Jewish girl growing up in America, I saw myself and my sister in these rich, detailed stories, and our Jewish heritage celebrated,” said Halle Stanford, President of Television for The Jim Henson Company. “I believe every family that watches this exciting and dramatic series will feel an authentic connection to their own lineage as well as to the struggles and joys of every immigrant or refugee family today. It will be the type of Henson family series we believe audiences are craving: epic, sentimental, topical, hopeful, funny, and joyful.“

“I cherished the All-of-a-Kind Family books as a kid, introduced them to my own children as a way of connecting to their ancestors, and am thrilled to bring this story – and its history, culture, and characters – to the screen,” said Lewis Jaffe.

All-of-a-Kind Family is a Jim Henson Company production. The series will be executive produced by The Jim Henson Company’s Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford, as well as Jordana Lewis Jaffe and Gregory Phelan. Rachel Manija Brown will co-produce.

RIP Coolio (1963-2022)

Artis Ivey, Jr., better known as Coolio has died. 

The hip-hop artist, had a string of hits in the mid-1990s such as "Fantastic Voyage" and "Gangsta's Paradise."

He guest-starred in episode 205 of Muppets Tonight along with Don Rickles although the two didn't knot have any scenes together where he performed his hit song "1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin' New)" with the Muppets for the finale.

According to Muppet Wiki, Kermit and Miss Piggy were among the many fictitious characters mentioned in his song "Ghetto Cartoon." 

Coolio was 59. 

Fraggle Rock: Back To The Rock Nominated for Two DCG Awards!

Fraggle Rock: Back To The Rock has been nominated for two Directors Guild of Canada Awards.

Happy Jim Henson Day! This year Jim would have turned 86. 

With Muppets Mayhem, the new Disney+ Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem series on the way, this year we celebrate Jim's birthday with clips of him performing Dr. Teeth.

Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are probably most known for the song "Can You Picture That?" Rather then show the clip from The Muppet Movie, here's the band preforming the tune in the TV special The Muppets Go Hollywood, that was used to promote the film.

"Muppets Night" Coming to The Masked Singer!

The Muppets are coming to The Masked Singer. 

After Kermit was unmasked as the snail last season, he and Miss Piggy will appear as judges for a whole episode dedicated to our felt friends.

No word yet on when "Muppets Night" will air, but season 8 of The Masked Singer premieres Wednesday, Sept 21 on FOX!

Bear in the Big Blue House Coming To Disney+!

Disney has announced that all four seasons of Bear in the Big Blue House are coming to Disney+.

The Jim Henson Company series ran off and one on the Disney Channel from 1997 - 2006.

Disney+ welcomes Bear in the Big Blue House to the United States version of their streaming service Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

Muppet Mayhem Comes to NYCC!

After conquering D23 last week, The Electric Mayhem will promote their upcoming series The Muppets Mayhem at New York Comic Con.

 

The Muppets Mayhem:

It’s time to play the music! Coming to Disney+ in 2023, The Muppets Mayhem is a brand-new series that, for the first time in the Muppets’ over 65-year history, focuses on the legendary Electric Mayhem band as they maneuver their way through the music world of Los Angeles with one goal — to finally record their first album. Join the “human” stars of the series — Lilly Singh, Tahj Mowry and Saara Chaudry — as well as co-creators and executive producers Adam F. Goldberg, Jeff Yorkes and Bill Barretta for exciting news, exclusive footage and more!

The Muppets Mayhem will be held on the Main stage Sunday, October 9 from 11-12:30pm.

Sesame Street will also get a NYCC panel with Playbill Presents: Sesame Street The Musical Panel:

D23 "Best in Snow" Featuring Kermit!

As we wrap up our 2022 D23 coverage Disney announced a new unscripted holiday special  called Best in Snow coming this winter to Disney+.

The festive holiday special hosted by Tituss Burgess, transports artistic teams from around the world to a magical snowy village, Snowdome, for a spirited competition for the title of Best in Snow. With the help of Snowdome’s finest carvers, teams will transform their 10-foot, 20-ton blocks of snow into beautiful creations inspired by Pixar, Marvel, Walt Disney Animation, Walt Disney Studios, and The Muppets Studio.

The teams focus on family favorites such as Moana, Coco, and The Lion King, and bring the characters to life in a way you’ve never seen before—in snow!

Spectacular snow sculptures and lively musical performances from Burgess, Kermit the Frog, and DCappella make this an action-packed winter event for the entire family. 

No release date yet, but expect the special to premiere this holiday season on Disney+.

D23 Limited Edition The Muppets aDorbs Mystery Pins!

There was also one more surprise Muppet exclusive released Sunday at D23 - a set of aDorbs Muppet Mystery Pins.

The main set consist of Kermit, Piggy, Gonzo, Rizzo, Camilla, and Pepe and are a limited edition of 400. 

There are also 4 chaser pins limited to 300 and 2 SUPER limited pins limited to 200.
The Chasers consist of Fozzie, Bunsen, Beaker, The Swedish Chef, Same Eagle, and Rowlf. 

I'm not sure which are the chasers and which are the SUPER chasers, but I'm sure it'll be incredibly hard for fans to complete their sets giving the scarcity of the line. 

Each box originally sold for $27.95 with two pins per box at the expo and are sadly already selling on ebay for astronomical amounts. 

D23 Exclusive Muppet Merch!

Seeing how this blog's primary focus is Muppet merchandise, here is our favorite part of any convention, the exclusive merch. 

Disney used the same set up as last year for their Muppet area. The crates labeled "The Muppets Studio" and the vintage cameras created a backstage feel. 

They also had many items from last year as well Including Muppet Studio tote bags, hats, and shirts.

and a Muppet Vision 3D crop top. 

New this year was a Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem shirt featuring Lips!

and new Muppet Studios drinkware and notebooks, as well as pajamas, shirts and drinkware featuring a new Muppet heads pattern. 

Eagle eyed fans have already noticed the pattern not only consists of well known Muppets like Kermit Fozzie, Piggy, and Gonzo, but it also includes fan favorite and lesser known characters like, Lew Zealand, Uncle Deadly, Camilla, Bean Bunny, and  Joe the Legal Weasel!

They also a shirt with larger versions of the icons as well. 

Hopefully we'll even see more merch featuring obscure characters.
