Muppet Stuff's 14th Anniversary!

The Muppet Stuff Blog turns 14 today!

To say it's been a wild ride is an understatement. What started as a just a Facebook page in 2012 has grown into a blog, Instagram, YouTube channel, and more.

We've been fortunate to meet so many friends, fellow fans, and other collectors over the years and if you're interested in showing off "Your Stuff" reach out to us and help us share your collection with our fellow fans. 

Not only do we want you to share you collection, we want to help you build your collection and it's been a great joy to see the delight as fellow fans find pieces they've been looking for.

This past year has been pretty busy and by far one of the highlights was our fan centric gatherings for The Museum of the Moving Image's Jim Henson Birthday Celebration and our Muppets Take Mahoning series at the Mahoning Drive-In. (If you haven't joined us yet, here's a peak at what your missing)

2026 has been even busier and we've expanded our vending schedule.
Below is our schedule from May - September and we're looking at adding even more events!

We'd like to thank the venues that we work with including Farpoint Toys, Museum of the Moving Image, Shoreline Vintage, RetroCon, Renew Theaters, The Mahoning Drive-In, Toys for the Ages Expo, Zolocon, State Theater Vintage, and Attic Mice 2. Be sure to support them.

May is just around the corner and not only our we getting a new Muppet attraction at Disney World, I'm being inducted in the MUPPET FAN HALL OF FAME!

This weekend I was honored to be a part of a weekend long celebration of your creativity, humility, and genius.

We toured your favorite spots throughout Manhattan, including your memorial bench and model boat pond in Central Park, the former locals of the Creature Shop and Henson offices, and the Carriage House. 

We were joined by your daughter Heather, and the many people keeping your legacy alive including banjo extraordinaire Lucas Ross and magician Rob Lake - who's finally getting The Muppets on Broadway. 

There was Muppet karaoke, cosplay (that's people dressed-up as their favorite characters), Sing-a-long's...

New and vintage merch in the gift shop. 

A collectible "Swamp Meet" with vendors and artists selling and trading items. 

Screening of fan-favorite clips celebrating the 70th anniversary of your work.

A costume contest.

And of course puppets!

And what would a birthday party be without cake!

It was a fantastic weekend that I'm sure everyone who attended won't soon forget.

All Three Muppet Families "Together Again"!

In a surprise kept very much under wraps, all three Muppet Families appeared "together again" for the first time in years.

Kermit the Frog, Oscar the Grouch, and Gobo Fraggle celebrate Jim Henson's birthday in a new video released by all three major Henson companies: The Muppets (Disney), The Jim Henson Company, and Sesame Street. 

This marks the first time all three Muppet families have been on screen together since The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson in 1990.

Happy Jim Henson Day! This year Jim would have turned 86. 

With Muppets Mayhem, the new Disney+ Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem series on the way, this year we celebrate Jim's birthday with clips of him performing Dr. Teeth.

Here is the Eclectic Mayhem's debut on The Muppet Show: Sex And Violence:

Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are probably most known for the song "Can You Picture That?" Rather then show the clip from The Muppet Movie, here's the band preforming the tune in the TV special The Muppets Go Hollywood, that was used to promote the film.

Vintage Annals Archive Podcast Jim Henson Birthday Zoom Event!

Celebrate Jim Henson's birthday Saturday as Rich Wexler's Vintage Annals Archive Podcast presents a "Henson Muppet Zoom Event."

The event will consist of interviews and videos talking to those that knew or worked with Jim, and some words from lifelong fans and collectors - including a video from the Muppet Stuff museum about Jim Henson items!

Rich is also promising a very special surprise guest and a fan experience to interactive via zoom to celebrate all things Henson.

Happy 85th Birthday, Jim Henson!

Today we celebrate what would have been Jim Henson's 85th birthday! 

Since his creations are owned by three different companies we thought we'd see how each one are celebrating and keeping his visions alive. 

Disney has been heavily promoting The Muppets first Halloween special Muppets Haunted Mansion (debuting Oct. 8th on Disney+), 

including edible promotional eclairs at Disney World. 

Sesame Workshop continues to expand the legacy of their work on Sesame Street (now in its 52 season!), with even more global outreach,newer series like Helpsters and The Not Too Late Show with Elmo, and Emmy winning specials like The Power of We.

The Jim Henson Company has been busy licensing Henson owned properties like Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, and even classic Henson doodles too.

 They even brought a Fraggle Rock theme to the navigation app Waze.

Speaking of Fraggle Rock don't forget the reboot was been filmed and is being prepared to stream on Apple TV+.  

And the stage version of Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas returns this year to New York's New Victory Theater. 

The Henson Company has also been sharing classic clips, posting messages from his children, and sharing other ways you celebrate Jim's 85th birthday.

Happy 85th Birthday, Jim Henson!

Trifecta of Birthday Wishes!

Today is a monumental day for Muppet Performer birthdays. Not one, not two, but three of our favorite doll wigglers share the same birthday. 

First up we have Ryan Dillon, who has been the guy underneath Elmo (an other various Sesame Street residence) for almost a decade.

Dillon has been so successful at taking over Elmo, that he now headlines his own, Not Too Late talk show. 

Below is Ryan performing Elmo live during a performance of 2019's Jazz at Lincoln Center Presents: A Swingin' Sesame Street Celebration.

Next is Allan Trautman who has worked under, around, and behind many Muppet and Henson puppets since joining the Muppets on Muppet *Vision 3D. 

He's known as one of the best "face" man in the business operating the face / mouth on many larger creature shop characters like Fran Sinclair (as well as many other Dinosaurs) and Earth to Ned's alien talk show host Ned. He also performs General Skelly on Nickelodeon's The Barbarian and the Troll.

Last, but certainly not least is one of Jim Henson's earliest collaborators, the guy who made Cookie Monster, Bert, Grover, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Animal, and Sam Eagle household names - Frank Oz.

Below Frank talks about his characters 

Fozzie's first appearance on The Muppet Show where Frank initially used a much deeper voice. When the pilot was reworked, they played off the voice as Fozzie's John Wayne impersonation. 

Of course Frank brought more than just the Muppets to life, he was also instrumental in bring Star Wars' Yoda to life as well a being an accomplished director who most recently brought us Muppet Guys Talking and In and of Itself.
