The Jim Henson Company Celebrates 70 Years by Partnering with Julien’s for Their First-Ever Official Auction of Puppets, Props, Memorabilia and More.
The Jim Henson Company and Julien’s Auctions are honoring Jim Henson’s 89th birthday with the announcement of the first-ever official auction: THE JIM HENSON COMPANY 70TH ANNIVERSARY AUCTION, taking place on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025 live at The Jim Henson Company in Hollywood, California and online at juliensauctions.com.
For the first time in history, select puppets, props, and memorabilia from The Jim Henson Company—including original pieces from the iconic series Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, and many more—will be made available to the public through auction. This momentous occasion offers fans and institutions a chance to own a piece of the visionary world that Jim Henson built.
Spanning more than seven decades, The Jim Henson Company’s legacy continues to impact society, humanities, education, pop culture, and entertainment today. An extraordinary collection of over 400 rare and important items from Jim Henson and the Company he founded will be presented for the first time at auction.
Pre-orders for the limited-edition hardcover auction “book” of this exclusive auction event opens today featuring hundreds of color illustrations, archival photographs, behind the scenes stories and descriptions in a remarkable catalog that includes production used and prototype puppets, props, animatronics, costumes, historic memorabilia, documents, posters, merchandise, autographed material, and beyond from a myriad collection of productions that span the Company’For example, heading to the auction will be the iconic Naia Drenchen Gelfling full-body puppet used in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (estimate: $15,000 – $25,000). The Naia puppet, recognizable for her Gelfling blue and green skin tones, identifiable bumps on her forehead, and fin-like scalloped ears, includes her entire torso as well as a pair of legs, and hooded costume.
Naia is first seen in the fourth episode of the Emmy-winning series, “The First Thing I Remember is Fire” after her twin brother, Gurjin, disappears. She is also a lead character in the Dark Crystal novels. Other highlighted items from the 2019 prequel series include sword props used by Rian (estimate: $3,000-$5,000) and Ordon (estimate: $1,000-$2,000); skekGra the Heretic Circle of the Suns’ Skeksis chair (estimate: $4,000-$6,000), dagger and baton props (estimate: $2,000-$3,000), and Maudra Fara’s axe prop (estimate: $1,000-$2,000).
The full auction will be available online and open for bidding Wednesday, October 22nd at juliensauctions.com. Proceeds from the auction will support the work of The Jim Henson Company’s Archives.
