Muppet Stuff's 14th Anniversary!

The Muppet Stuff Blog turns 14 today!

To say it's been a wild ride is an understatement. What started as a just a Facebook page in 2012 has grown into a blog, Instagram, YouTube channel, and more.

We've been fortunate to meet so many friends, fellow fans, and other collectors over the years and if you're interested in showing off "Your Stuff" reach out to us and help us share your collection with our fellow fans. 

Not only do we want you to share you collection, we want to help you build your collection and it's been a great joy to see the delight as fellow fans find pieces they've been looking for.

This past year has been pretty busy and by far one of the highlights was our fan centric gatherings for The Museum of the Moving Image's Jim Henson Birthday Celebration and our Muppets Take Mahoning series at the Mahoning Drive-In. (If you haven't joined us yet, here's a peak at what your missing)

2026 has been even busier and we've expanded our vending schedule.
Below is our schedule from May - September and we're looking at adding even more events!

We'd like to thank the venues that we work with including Farpoint Toys, Museum of the Moving Image, Shoreline Vintage, RetroCon, Renew Theaters, The Mahoning Drive-In, Toys for the Ages Expo, Zolocon, State Theater Vintage, and Attic Mice 2. Be sure to support them.

May is just around the corner and not only our we getting a new Muppet attraction at Disney World, I'm being inducted in the MUPPET FAN HALL OF FAME!

The Muppets Celebrate Disney's Hollywood Studios 35th Anniversary!

Disney's Hollywood Studios (formally known as Disney MGM Studios) celebrated its 35th anniversary today.

Miss Piggy and Kermit hosted the anniversary celebration held at the Theater of the Stars and were joined by Vice President Jackie Swisher, the Disney Ambassadors, opening day cast members, and a host of Disney characters.

The Stage 1 Company Store, located next to Muppet Vision 3D, was open to guests for the first time in years with limited-edition 35th-anniversary apparel, collectibles, and pins designed to commemorate the anniversary.

Muppet Stuff Blog Turns 12!

Today mark's The Muppet Stuff Blog's 12th Anniversary. 

What started as a just a Facebook page has grown into a full blog, YouTube channel, collectibles store, and more.

On our  YouTube channel, we aim to provide a variety of videos - all showcasing Henson collectibles, in different ways - Thrifting, Pickups, on location adventures, Unboxings, and more. 

Our channel also features our appearances on other people's videos as well. 

This type of collaboration is something we'd like to greatly expand upon which is why we've decide to bring back our "Show Us Your Stuff!" series. If you're not familiar, this is a show where we talk to fellow fans about their favorite items from their collections. 

If you're interested in showing off "Your Stuff" reach out to us - Email is best - and let us know about you and your collection. It can be anything Jim Henson related, even if you only collect items based on short-lived Henson series from the 90's, we want to to hear about it!

Tori Schmidt, who put the time line together, also runs Muppets No Context Twitter and hosts the Muppetwt Awards, The Muppies, and The Muppet Fan Hall of Fame, put out a form to nominate Muppets fans for this year's class into to the Muppet Fan Hall of Fame.

Muppet Stuff's 11th Anniversary!

Today is Muppet Stuff's 11th Anniversary. 

Shameless anniversary plug time, last year we began offering Muppet Stuff Blog merch including stickers, mugs, and shirts on Teepublic and Spreadshirt.

The Muppet Stuff Blog's 10th Anniversary!

This weekend our little blog reached a milestone - a full decade of Muppet Stuff!

We started out as a page on facebook, then a website, and gradually expanded over the years to other social media outlets, such as Twitter, Youtube, and Instagram. 

While we have done conventions in the past, last year we expanded not just to conventions in the Philadelphia area but online as well with The Muppet Stuff and More Store on Mercari. 

For our 10th Anniversary we our expanding again and opening a Muppet Stuff Blog store on both Teepublic and Spreadshirt as well as a Patreon. So now you can help support the site, and get some exclusive Muppet Stuff Blog merch too. 

So far we have stickers, mugs, tote bags, buttons, and cell phone cases available with our logo and social media outlets, with more products and design on the way. 

And as we look to our future, I'd like to take a moment tell you about our history.
The idea first began in the early 2000's when Muppet Central was the only major Muppet fan site. They had a forum that was constantly being updated by fans, but the site itself didn't seem to get updated much, especially about new Muppet products. 

By chance at 2001's Muppet Fest I sat next to Danny Horn who published the Muppet Zine. Being both frustrated with the lack of information us fans were craving, we talked about our ideas for future Muppet fan sites. 

I mentioned my idea about a site primarily focused on merchandise, but relating other Jim Henson related news as well and he mentioned a site he was thinking about that later became ToughPigs. 

Over the next few years there still was little attention given to merchandise. My friend James, who I also met through Muppet Central, started texting and calling each whenever we spotted a new Muppet product.

I knew other fans would be interested in the same information: what's coming out, when, and where can I get it. Simple and to the point. 

Around 2010 blogs were becoming more ubiquitous and in 2011, with Disney's release of The Muppets movie and their full bore Muppet franchise reboot, I knew the time had come to finally launch Muppet Stuff. 

Which brings me to the name. I had always been a fan of the Muppet Stuff stores the Henson Company launched in the 80's. I saw ads in the back of Muppet Magazine and couldn't wait to visit a store that sold nothing but Muppet related items. Unfortunately, the closest one to me was in NYC, and while I didn't grow up that far away, when you're a kid it might as have been Antarctica. 

On family trips to NYC we either had the wrong address (we didn't have goggle at our figure tips back then) or just missed the store closing for the day. Needless to say I NEVER made to a Muppet Store though my dad was able on trips to NYC and brought me back items from time to time.

This only increased my desire to have a place of just Muppet stuff and thus began my collection and love for Muppet... stuff!

The Muppet Stuff store's motto was "A store with nothing but," and I wanted to incorporate that as well the classic advertising line from The Muppets Take Manhattan - "just say what the product does? Why no one's ever tried that!" so instead of just Muppet Stuff, which was the stores name, the blog became The Muppet Stuff Blog "A blog with nothing but." 

 

Speaking of my dad, you may be wondering why our birthday is April 24th. It's my dad's birthday. He's literally the father of Muppet Stuff and I thought it was appropriate to honor him by having the blog officially begin on his birthday.

Sadly, my dad passed away suddenly in October and so he didn't get to see the blog turn 10, but he did get to see it expand over the years including my 2020 appearance on Collector's Call.   

To celebrate our first decade, over the next year we'll periodically look back at the last decade of The Muppet Stuff Blog as we continue to bring you all the latest news about Jim Henson related merchandise and more. 

So thanks again to everyone who's supported the blog over these last 10 years and hearty welcome to all our news fans.

Muppet Stuff's 9th Anniversary!

Over the weekend our little blog celebrated it's 9th birthday. 

Since our last birthday we've launched the Muppet Stuff Book Club.

Continued our Thrifting Adventures with Cinema Sickness including two live streams where we discussed viewers Jim Henson related questions:

Teamed up with our friends at ToughPigs to "do good" for #BlackLivesMatter awareness.

We launched the "Muppet Stuff and More!" store for fans to get their own Muppet stuff and...well....more!

And even appeared on MeTV's Collector's Call. 

That's quite a lot for our little blog in only the last year.

Muppet Stuff's 6th Anniversary!

Can you believe our little blog turns 6 today?

To celebrate, we're going to celebrate with a look at the 6th episode of a few Henson series.

According to the Muppet wiki, Sam and Friends spoofed The Huntley and Brinkley Report in their 1961 6th episode. 

In 1969, Sesame Street aired it's 6th episode featuring Burt Lancaster, Brian Henson, and a block party!

The Muppets Valentine Show was the Muppets' 6th prime time special and introduced Goerge the Janitor and Mildred. 

Depending on production or air date Jim Nabors was arguably The Muppet Show's 6th guest star. 

In 1983, Convincing John made his debut in the 6th episode of Fraggle Rock:

A year later, Baby Gonzo imagined himself as James Bond when he couldn't find his stuffed toy chicken, Camilla in Muppet Babies' 6th episode "The Case of the Missing Chicken."

David Bowie, as Jareth the Goblin King, Magic Danced our way into our hearts in Jim Henson productions' 6th over all theatrical film, Labyrinth. 

The 6th episode of The Jim Henson Hour featured the creature shop inspired special Monster Maker:

Dizzy Gillespie appeared in The Ghost of Faffner Hall's 6th episode "Reacting to Sounds." Sadly, there isn't any video online of his appearance.

Baby Sinclair was though t to be "The Golden Child" in Dinosuars' 6th episode:

City Kids tackled urban blight in their 6th episode, "The Mural."

Dog City's Ace Hart tracked down a broadcasting killer in "Radio Daze."

We have it on good authority that Muppets Tonight's 6th episode was performer Bill Barretta's favorite, as it guest starred Tony Bennet.

The Muppet's 6th theatrical feature Muppets From Space was released in 1999. 

The Electric Mayhem took Kristin Chenoweth for a ride in the 6th episode of The Muppets.

And just this year the new Muppet Babies made a  "Blanket Fort" and played "Playground Pirates" in their 6th episode.

Lots of cool things happen at 6. Here's to 6 wonder years ha ha ha!
