Take A Stroll Down LEGO Ideas Sesame Street!

We first shared Ivan Guerrero's Lego Sesame Street idea way back 2017 and it's finally a reality as today Lego officially announced LEGO Ideas 21324 Sesame Street!

Below are Ivan's , who goes by the builder name "bulldoozer", original concepts for the LEGO Sesame Street playset.

Ivan attributes Jim Henson and his creations for shaping his creative career in the film industry. You can learn more about Ivan Guerrero in his 10K Club Interview.

While LEGO went with a slimmed down and modern look of the street, and opted for no humans we still delighted to see Ivan's idea come to fruition.

Ivan's nostalgic and playful concept model was brought to life as an official LEGO Ideas set by LEGO Model Designer Ollie Gregory with graphic design by Crystal Marie Fontan. In addition, the new LEGO moulds for the minifigures were created by Jaime Sanchez, Stewart Whitehead & Ann Chen.

From Bert and Ernie’s apartment to Big Bird’s nest and Hooper's Store, many of our favorite sesame Street locals have been incorporated into this set... even if Ernie and Bert's' apartment isn't in the right place (they live in the basement, not the penthouse).

The Elmo, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, Bert, Ernie and Big Bird figures were created specifically for this LEGO Ideas set and they represent the first time in LEGO Ideas history that new LEGO elements have been created specifically for one of their sets.

Once built, the 1,367-piece LEGO 123 Sesame Street measures 9” (24cm) high, 13.5” (35cm) wide and 8.2” (21cm) deep.

Official Product Description:

Sesame Street has been a family-favorite TV show for more than 50 years. Now you can create a colorful, LEGO® brick version of 123 Sesame Street and relive classic scenes with this awesome LEGO Ideas (21324) build-and-display set for adults.

Instantly recognizable details:
The 123 Sesame Street building features Bert and Ernie’s apartment, Elmo’s bedroom and Bert’s rooftop bird house, and is packed with authentic details and accessories to delight fans. To complete the iconic street corner scene, there is Hooper’s Store, Big Bird’s nest, Oscar the Grouch’s trash can and much more. This set includes Sesame Street character minifigures Elmo, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, Bert and Ernie, plus a Big Bird figure, to spark imaginative fun.

Hopefully the release of this Sesame Street LEGO set will bring attention to Ivan's other Henson related sets including Labyrinth and The Muppet Show and they'll be made into official LEGO products as well.

LEGO Ideas 21324 Sesame Street will be available to purchase November 1st from shop.LEGO.com and LEGO stores around the world, for a recommended retail price of US $119.99 – CA $149.99 – DE €119.99 – UK £109.99 – FR €119.99 – DK 1099 DKK (*EURO pricing varies by country. LEGO Ideas Sesame Street Playset Reaches 10,000 Votes!

You may recall Ivan Guerrero's ideas for a Sesame Street LEGO set. We reported on his efforts in 2017 and again earlier this year. It was our hope that the extra attention would push him over the 10,000 vote mark which is LEGO's threshold for determining whether to actually make an "idea" a reality.

Well, this week his
Sesame Street LEGO set officially met the mark!

Now LEGO will now review all the submissions that reached 10,000 votes this quarter and decide which set(s) to produce. They also still need to get approvals from Sesame Workshop.

Hopefully we'll get LEGO's official decision in a few months. This being Sesame Street's 50th anniversary you would think thi would be a no brainer, but you never know.

Congrats to Ivan on crossing this hurdle to making a Sesame Street LEGO set a reality.

Make LEGO Sesame a Reality!

A few years ago we noted that Muppet fan Ivan Guerrero designed a LEGO set based on Sesame Street for "LEGO Ideas."

In order for LEGO to consider making it an official product though an idea needs 10,000 signatures and as of this post, the set is about 4,000 signatures away from that goal.

What better year then
Sesame Street's 50th anniversary to make a Sesame Street LEGO set a reality.

Check out the proposed set your include:

Recreate your favorite moments from the show with this detailed model of the iconic 123 Sesame Street apartment building. This playset features renditions of several rooms from the show’s long history, including Bert and Ernie’s apartment, Gordon and Susan’s dining room, Maria’s living room, and Elmo’s World. You’ll find many easter eggs that reference specific episodes and comedy sketches from the show. Open out the back wall for easy play access and let your imagination soar.
  • Includes 14 minifigures: Bob, Gordon, Susan, Bert, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Biff, Sully, Ernie, Cookie Monster, Count von Count, Prairie Dawn, Grover and Elmo.
  • Also comes with Dorothy the Goldfish, Slimey, Batty Bats, Bert’s pigeons, Radar, and Rubber Duckie.
  • Smarter than a speeding bullet, it’s Super Grover! Transform mild-mannered Grover into his semi-secret superhero identity, with the additional helmet and chest plate.
  • In Elmo’s World, stop by and build crayon-like mosaic drawings and furniture.
  • Somebody come and play! Use the tire swing and let the characters swing back and forth.
  • Munch on all the cookies with Cookie Monster in the kitchen.
  • Drop by Oscar’s trash can and see if he’ll pop out to say “Scram!”
  • Watch the Count laugh maniacally to thunder and lightning, as he counts from 1 to 10.
  • Plant some flowers and try to spot the Twiddlebugs' house.
  • Catch all the references to your favorite Sesame Street songs, including Rubber Duckie, I Love Trash, Pinball Number Count, The People in Your Neighborhood, and One of These Things
  • Accessory elements include a banana, carrot, tool box, pie, milk, bicycle, newspaper, garbage cans, guitar, saucepan, and much more!

Sounds amazing, right? If you would like to see it in stores, head on over to Lego Ideas and cast your vote.

LEGO Muppeteers!

Ivan Guerrero is back with his fourth LEGO Idea set: The Muppeteers!

Go on a behind-the-scenes look at the Muppets with four of the original puppeteers behind the groundbreaking, television phenomenon known as The Muppet Show! This LEGO set celebrates the art, the music, the comedy and the magic of the Muppeteers, featuring Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Dave Goelz and Jerry Nelson.

This is the fourth set I’ve designed based on Jim Henson and his works. Please make sure to vote on my designs for Sesame Street, The Muppet Show and Labyrinth.

Each Muppeteer includes a mini figure of their most iconic puppet creation, as well as a theater stage backdrop illustrating their expertise.

  • Muppet creator Jim Henson comes with a mini Kermit the Frog puppet, a banjo, a Rainbow Connection backdrop, a bicycle (inspired by The Muppet Movie), and a television set with The Muppet Show logo.

  • Director Frank Oz comes with a mini Fozzie Bear puppet, a banana, a Manhattan Melodies poster and a television camera. His backdrop is split between a stage curtain and a backstage area, highlighting his career as both a puppeteer and a film director.

  • Dave Goelz comes with a Gonzo the Great puppet, a plunger, a cannon and a Muppet chicken. His backdrop features a Muppet Workshop supplies cabinet (based on The Art of the Muppets exhibit), to showcase his early career as a Muppet designer and builder.
  • Musician Jerry Nelson comes with a Floyd Pepper puppet, an electric guitar, a speaker and a microphone. His backdrop features a stage lighting set-up inspired by the Electric Mayhem band, as well as a theater poster featuring popular songs performed by many of his characters.
All that's missing is Richard Hunt, and Louise Gold, and Steve Whitmire. Though, I'm sure he's saving them for wave 2!

Another great job Ivan!

Tell LEGO How to Get to Sesame Street!

Muppet fan Ivan Guerrero recently designed a LEGO set based on Sesame Street for "LEGO Ideas."

If his design gets over 10,000 votes on the LEGO Ideas page, it stands the chance of being produced as an official LEGO product. It would still need approval from Sesame Workshop, of course but when you see his designs, and all the details he put into it, it would be hard for them not to.

Previous fan-made sets based on Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, The Big Bang Theory, Doctor Who, The Beatles, Voltron, NASA, have all been produced so Ivan's Sesame Street design has a good shot.

You can check out his design and vote by visiting the LEGO Ideas page.

Thanks for sharing this Ivan, now let's make sure he idea gets all the votes he can get.
