Yesterday got SUPER BOWLed by The Muppets!

Yesterday's "Big Game" had all it all action, commentary, commercials and most importantly Muppets! Our furry friends were in the middle of everything and seemed almost everywhere in support of "Muppets Most Wanted"

Early in the afternoon Miss Piggy, Kermit, and Rowlf appeared on Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl.

(Until official footage surfaces, check out these clips captured by our friend Ryan at The Muppet Mindset.)

UPDATED: with official footage!

Then, Disney sponsored part of the official pre-show, and renamed it "The Muppest Most Wanted Pregame Show."

And although no Muppets actually appeared, other then in pop up ads...

... the film's logos and images were front and center on the commentator's desk and were used when the show came back from commercials.

This really showed Disney's commitment to promoting the film, as this year's ad's cost $4 million for each 30 second spot during the game! So buying a such a prominent section of the pre-show wasn't cheap.

And Speaking of commercials, in the break leading up to their sponsored section of the pre-game, a brand new "Muppets Most Wanted" trailer premiered, and then two others aired during it as well.

You can take a look at our exclusive truncated version of the PreGame show featuring just the Muppet parts here:

It's really something to hear the announcer actually say "The Muppest Most Wanted Pregame Show."

After the show, an extended version of one of the trailers ht the web.

Meanwhile, Toyota really pulled out all the stops with their Muppet Highlander collaboration, releasing more videos, and Lips even made onto Toyota's Facebook cover photo!

As well as real time vines featuring Pepe!

And of course the official "Big Game" Ad itself!

Which was followed later in the evening by a second ad!!

Disney even released a new football themed video featuring The Swedish Chef and Beautiful Day Monster!!

All in all it was a VERY Muppet filled day!

And if that wasn't enough, Miss Piggy posted her own video this morning
weighing in about her NOT being in the ad!

Hope everyone enjoyed this years' Muppet Bowl and the kickoff of media blitz for Muppets Most Wanted!
