Muppet Babies and Sesame Street Win Daytime Emmy Awards!

The 46th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were streamed live on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter last night from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

Unfortunately, Esme & Roy and Muppet Babies both lost Outstanding Preschool Children's Animated Series to Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood 

However, Sesame Street took home 3 awards: Outstanding Multiple Camera Editing, Outstanding Sound Mixing and Outstanding Preschool Children's Series.

Ben Diskin won Outstanding Performer in a Preschool Animated Program for playing Gonzo on Disney' s Muppet Babies.


The In Memoriam segment featured tributes to many people who worked on Sesame Street over the years including scenic designer Bob Phillips Jr, guest star Carol Channing, songwriter Carol Hall, and Molly the mail carrier herself, Charlotte Rae:





The academy also paid tribute to Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary

During the creative arts award ceremony the night before Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Alan Muraoka, performed with Joely Fisher, though there currently is no footage online.
