Muppets Take The New Zealand Mint!

As we first showed you at Toy Fair, The New Zealand Mint will be releasing a set of Muppet coins this year. 

Below is the official description:

This most sensational Disney’s The Muppets 1oz Silver Coin shows happy-go-lucky Kermit the Frog in all his green glory, as well as being engraved in action! The addition of The Muppets logo completes the cheerful design. The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the coin is legal tender in Niue.

Packaged in an acrylic block, the coin can be just as easily displayed as admired within its packaging, also featuring Kermit. The coin fits snugly inside the outer box surrounded by green felt reminiscent of the famous frog!

A limited-edition coin with a worldwide mintage of only 10,000, its uniquely numbered Certificate of Authenticity is also found inside the packaging.

The Kermit coin is already available, and coins featuring Fozzie, Miss Piggy, and Animal will be released throughout the year.

The release dates are as follows:

Fozzie Bear: May 27

Miss Piggy: August 2

Animal: November 4
