Disney+ Pulls Prop Culture!

Prop Culture is the latest Disney+ original to be unceremoniously cancelled and pulled from the service. 


The series premiered May 1st, 2020 and was 
hosted by film historian/collector Dan Lanigan.

Each episode focused on 
Lanigan.tracking down and learning the histortory  of props from 
including 
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Mary Poppins, Tron, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit—through the props and costumes (now modern ‘artifacts’) that made them unique.


The 8th episode focused on objects from The Muppet Movie where Lanigan talked to Brian Henson, Muppet Movie poster artist Drew Struzan, costume designers Calista Hendrickson and Amy Van Gilder, Dave Goelz, Gonzo, and Paul Williams.

Prop Culture joins the list of other Disney+ originals recently pulled from service including special Best in Snow featuring Kermit,  cooking competition reality show Foodtastic  that featured Kermit, Piggy, Gonzo, and the Swedish Chef in a Muppet-themed finale, and The Jim Henson Company's Earth To Ned
