Elmo Goes on a "Chicken Shop Date"!

He may only be 3 years old, but Elmo is the latest celebrity to go on a Chicken Shop Date with Amelia Dimoldenberg.

"Your Studio is a Wonderland"...John Mayer and McG Set to But Henson Lot!

John Mayer and McG are under contract to buy The Jim Henson Company lot.

After the Henson's put the lot up for sale, a rumor circulated that the Church of Scientology had purchased the historic studio.

A Henson spokesperson said at the time "In regards to recent rumors about the sale of the La Brea studio lot, the Henson family is not in any business dealings with the Church of Scientology, and that organization is not in consideration as a potential buyer of the property. It is still the family’s intention to move The Jim Henson Company to a new location it can share with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, but at this time the family is not in escrow with any buyer.”

However, now it looks like there is a buyer and it's Grammy-winning singer, Mayer, who has offices at the Jim Henson lot and filmmaker McG, known for the Drew Barrymore-Cameron Diaz-Lucy Liu Charlie’s Angels movies and many more action-centric films.

The studio has along history and a variety of owners. Originally built by Charlie Chaplin who sold it 1952 to a real estate development firm that rented it for productions  like George Reeves’ Adventures of Superman. Red Skelton purchased the lot in 1960, and by 1966, it was in the home of A&M Records.

The Henson Company plans to rent the space until they find a new home big enough to hold their production company and Creature Shop in one facility.

New OniPress 4-Issue "Sesame Street" Comic!

OniPress has a new 4-part Sesame Street comic book.

Each issue has multiple variant covers including a coloring book version.  

The first 3 issues are available in comic shops now with the 4th issue coming later this month.

"Sesame Street Learn & Play" Opening Day Announced!

As we first told you about in March, the first ever Sesame Street Learn and Play Educational Center is coming to the American Dream mega mall in East Rutherford, NJ, and now we know what you can expect and when you can experience it for yourself. 

"This groundbreaking attraction will combine learning with play, offering an immersive experience for guests of all ages through the enchanting world of Sesame Street," a press release reads.

Sesame Street Learn & Play promises timeless memories for the entire family through adventures, photo opportunities, and learning experiences.

Children can explore the rainforest as they step into Elmo’s World, role-play a shopping experience in Hooper’s Store, explore Abby Cadabby’s magical garden and laugh with Bert and Ernie. Guests can capture memories in front of Sesame Street landmarks, such as the iconic 123 Stoop and Oscar’s trash can. Big Bird will entertain visitors with stories at his nest, while Elmo and Abby will make surprise appearances to add to the excitement.

At the Sesame Street Community Center, kids will enjoy hands-on arts and crafts, and at the Bike Shop, they’ll learn about cause and effect with cranks and gears. For even more fun, kids can head over to the Sesame Street Playground where they can climb, slide, and explore, discovering fun facts about nature along the way. There will also be a separate toddler play area for younger guests.

Party rooms will be available for events and the Sesame Street retail store will complement the memorable experience.

Sesame Street fans are invited to join furry friends at the grand opening weekend celebration on Nov. 17 and participate in the Sesame Street Dream Parade, which will kick off at the Dream Stage at 11 a.m.

Along the parade route will be exciting surprises, culminating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The parade is free for everyone to join, and then guests who purchase tickets can experience Sesame Street Learn & Play.

Animation Magazine: Mokey’s Makeover!

Pretty much everyone likes Fraggle Rock, and pretty much everyone was excited to see the Fraggles return in AppleTV+'s reboot Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock, but a controversy of the new show has been Mokey's makeover.

Animation Magazine spoke with with the Henson Creature Shop’s New York-based creative supervisor Jason Weber about Mokey’s makeover and thought that went into it and why. 

"Mokey’s character (as delightful as she is) did not appear to be a peer of the characters. She seemed more of a mentor or parental figure as opposed to someone who was the same age as the others. So, for this new reboot, we wanted her to look younger, like a friend or sister."

"Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock" Season 1 Coming to DVD & Bluray!

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announced that Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock is coming to DVD and Blu-ray.

The first season of the Apple TV+ reboot makes it's home video debut on Nov. 19.

The DVD collection includes all 14 in standard definition, with 5.1 Dolby Digital sound.

The Blu-ray Disc set features the same episodes presented in high-definition with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Three of the episodes come with commentary tracks with John Tartaglia and Karen Prell as well as  a blooper reel and four sing-alongs.

No pre-order links have been released yet, but we'll update this post when they're up. 

Henson Company to Adapt "Third Shift Society"!

The Jim Henson Company, Wattpad WEBTOON Studios, and  John W. Hyde and Terissa Kelton’s Rehab Entertainment, will adapt the supernatural WEBTOON webcomic "Third Shift Society" as a live-action series. 

Ray Utarnachitt (“DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, “The Tomorrow People,” “Person of Interest”) is attached to write the series based on Meredith Moriarty’s original webcomic.

Just like her global fandoms on WEBTOON, we absolutely fell in love with Meredith’s stunning artwork and the immersive paranormal world she’s built in ‘Third Shift Society’,” said David Madden, Head of Global Entertainment at Wattpad WEBTOON Studios. “With memorable characters, dark humor, and slow-burn mysteries, this is a perfect story to bring to a series format. We’re thrilled to have partners on this project that are as passionate as we are about creating incredible fantasy content, including Ray Utarnachitt, who I’m very happy to be working with again after our time together on ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.'”

Funko NYCC Exclusive Animal POP!

New York Comic Con kicks off today and Funko will have an exclusive Animal POP vinyl figure for sale at the show. 

The POP is an update on the figure Funko released over a decade ago for both The Muppets and Muppets Most Wanted and features Animal with his drum set.

Not only that, but there are two versions - a regular and a flocked version.

The flocked version is NYCC exclusive, while the regular will shared exclusive with Target.
