Flames of the Dark Crystal Now Available!

Flames of the Dark Crystal, the fourth and final book in J.M. Lee's Dark Crystal prequel series hit is out today. 

 

J.M. marked the occasion by thanking editors Valois and Gabbi Degennaro. 

As with the other books in the series, Flames of the Dark Crystal also features illustrations by Cory Godbey.

Coming Soon The Storyteller: Sirens!

Archaia has new Storyteller miniseries on the way entitled, Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Sirens.

The 4 issue series will focus on the magic, beauty, and danger of mermaids.

While the main connecting covers by Cory Godbey have not yet revealed, variant covers by Jakub Rebelka, Chan Chau, Sarah Webb, and Aud Koch, can be seen below.

Jim Henson's Dark Crystal Tales Now Available!

Jim Henson's Dark Crystal Tales, author/ illustrator Cory Godbey's follow up to last year's
Jim Henson's Labyrinth Tales, is now available.

"Feat for the Skekis", "Circles of Kindness and "Fizzgig's Mighty Quest" are Tales' three short stories.

Once again Godbey's artwork is spectacular. I particularly like the comic and sympathetic way he makes us feel for the usually fearsome Garthin in "Feat for the Skekis."

Song of The Dark Crystal Now Available!

J.M. Lee's second original Dark Crystal companion novel, Song of The Dark Crystal is now available. 

The second original companion novel to Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal follows Naia and Kylan as they seek help from the Gelfling clans to prevent the Skeksis from implementing the next stage of their sinister plan.

Kylan of Sami Thicket is a skilled song teller, but singing the tales of long-gone heroes won’t help his friends as they journey into dangerous, unknown lands. Get Your First Look at Jim Henson’s Dark Crystal Tales!

It seems that Archaia, along with their serialized sequel comic "Power of the Dark Crystal", will also release a children's book entitled Jim Henson’s Dark Crystal Tales.

It's no coincidence that the name may remind you of last fall's Jim Henson’s Labyrinth Tales. Writer and artist Cory Godbey, who also wrote and illustrated Labyrinth Tales will now take on stories inside The Dark Crystal's land of Thra.

According to Nerdist, one tale is about "when a little bird gets hurt in a Skeksis net, Jen takes it to the Mystics for healing and learns how “every act of kindness grows like ripples in a lake.”

Below is a spread from the short story “Fizzgig’s Mighty Quest.”

The 48 page, full color hardcover, graphic novel will be released in comic shops July 26 and August 1 in bookstores.
