Muppet Babies Come to Disney Stores!

They make their dreams come true, and now they're at a Disney Store near you!

Plush dolls based on the new Muppet Babies reboot are now available and all the major characters are included, sans Nanny's legs. 

Baby Kermit comes in his blue and white frog embroidered shirt and shorts combo.

Baby Piggy comes in her pink jumper and bow.

Baby Gonzo is wearing red overalls over a yellow chili pepper shirt.

Baby Fozzie has his yellow and red outfit, compete with a plush (non-spinning) propeller hat.

Animal comes with a camo hoodie and "ripped" jeans. Interestingly, the jeans aren't actually ripped. The ripped area is actually sewn on!

Finally, the newest member of the Muppet Babies Summer Penguin who comes in her blue, sun emblazoned, turtle-neck sweater skirt.

All are fairly well made, though like past Disney Store Muppet plush each is slightly
different, so you may have to find the one that looks just right. 

These had just arrived at my closest Disney Store, and were behind on one of the unused registers. No Muppet Babies signs or any of other items. The tags, are a slight disappointment, as they're basic Disney Store tags and don't have any not Muppet Babies branding or the character's names.  

Hopefully the Muppets will someday warrant an official section inside Disney Stores, like Star Wars, but until then we'll have to make our dreams come true with these plush. 

Each is $14.95, but they are currently on sale for $12 when you buy 2 or more.

Fraggle Rock Mini-Series #2 Now Available!

The second issue of Archaia's four part Fraggle Rock miniseries comes out today! 

Our friend, and major Henson fan, Jay Fosgitt supplied not only the art, but wrote the story as well! 

The story Jay came up with revolves around bullies. Check out the official description as well as the first few pages below. 

When a gang of bullies cause trouble in Fraggle Rock, Gobo and friends will need to find a way to teach these Fraggles the values of kindness and community.

It looks like another great entry into both the Fraggle and Fosgitt libraries. Hopefully Jay will get to play in the Fraggle or other Henson sandbox again soon.

The issue is available at comic book shops and through Amazon now.

"We’re Doing A Best Of The Muppets" Album Coming Soon!

As if UK fans didn't have enough to look forward to next month with the Muppets live performance coming and all, now they're getting a new album too! 

Well, technically it's not a new album, but a new "best of" compilation.

"We’re Doing A Best Of The Muppets" features classic Muppet tunes mixed with newer entries from the past two movies and more.

There are a few surprises to be sure.

For one, they're using the version of the The Muppet Show Theme from the 2011's The Muppets instead of one from the original series. It also appears that Mah Na Mah Na is from The Muppets, and not the original as well. 

Other interesting choices include Muppets Most Wanted's Macarena (Bayside Boys Remix), and Moves Like Jagger, which was cut from the original release of the movie, 

Popcorn, which was previously only available as a digital single, and the Life's A Happy Song Finale from The Muppets. And really, The Moopets version of Rainbow Connection? Wow. 

By far, the biggest surprises though are what's NOT included. With a title like "We’re Doing A Best Of The Muppets" you would think, "We're Doing a Sequel" would be there. Not even "I'll Get You What You Want (Cockatoo in Malibu)" made the cut? Nor any of the new Electric Mayhem songs from the viral videos, or even Bohemian Rhapsody??

You can tell by the way they reference the songs in the track list that they simply took 2005's "Best of the Muppets featuring The Muppets' Wizard of Oz" removed the Oz tracks, added a few more from The Muppet Movie, then filled in the rest from The Muppets and Muppets Most Wanted. The Muppet Show isn't even mentioned as where the classic tracks came from, look at "Happy Feet Kermit the Frog Best of the Muppets" for example.

Nothing from The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppets Take Manhattan (which still has yet to be released on CD or digitally), The Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island, or even Muppets from Space.

I'm glad they're releasing a new compilation, but this seems like another missed opportunity. When someone says Best of the Muppets Macarena (Bayside Boys Remix), and Moves Like Jagger certainly aren't songs that even the most casual of fans would list.

As of now this UK only album, will be released July 6th.

Dr. Teeth to Appear on Muppet Babies!

As we previously reported, Statler, Waldorf, Bunsen, Beaker, Rowlf, Rizzo, and Dr. Teeth would all be making guest appearances on the new Muppet Babies reboot. 

Since then, Statler, Waldorf, Bunsen, Beaker, and Rizzo have all made their debuts and tomorrow we can scratch one more name off the list... Dr. Teeth!

The good doctor will be appearing as his regular adult Muppet self inside a Muppet Babies fantasy, just like he did on the original series episode "Muppets Not Included"!

In the first story of the episode titled “The Good, The Bad and The Froggy,” Kermit and the gang go on a rootin’-tootin’ Wild West Adventure. Then, in “Muppet Rock,” the Muppet Babies form a rock band and Dr. Teeth makes a special guest appearance.

That leaves only Rowlf to make his Muppet Babies reboot debut!

New Dinosaur Train and Splash DVD's!

Two new Henson DVD's came out this week

First, Splash and Bubbles make their DVD debut with "One Bog Ocean,"

And Dinosaur Train has new compilation of episodes about "Making New Friends."

Both are available at the links above through Amazon and at stores near you.
