UPDATE - River Horse's "The Dark Crystal" Card Game CANCELLED!

Three year after River Horse released a Labyrinth Card Game, they've now released a card game based on The Dark Crystal as well.

Update: Unfortunately, we received word from RiverHorse that the project was canceled.

Below, you can see what it was going to look like though.

The Dark Crystal Card Game includes 80 beautifully illustrated tarot-sized cards, divided into 24 Major Suit cards ('Vliyaya') and 4 14 Minor Suit cards ('Songs', 'Spirals', 'Swords,' and 'Scepters'). 

The simple core rules allow four players to have a quick, fun game, suitable for all the family. The advanced rules turn the game into a more sophisticated, highly tactical experience, more suitable for grown-ups.

 

The Dark Crystal Card Game arrives in comic stores in June / July and can be ordered online from Boardlandia and Toywiz.

Five Nights At Freddy's Teaser!

The first trailer for the Five Nights at Freddy's movie has been released. 

The film, based on the popular video game series, is produced by Blumhouse Productions with creatures from Jim Henson's' Creature Shop.

The Electric Mayhem Hits No. 1!

Last week, Dr. Teeth and Electric Mayhem's first album entered the kid's Billboard chart at number 13 and now it's jumped all the way to number 1!

That's right, according to Billboard Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem are now #1 selling artists!

"The Muppets Mayhem: Music From the Disney+ Original Series jumps from No. 13 to No. 1 on the Kid Albums chart, leading for the first time.

The album concurrently debuts at No. 10 on the Soundtracks chart, No. 23 on Top Current Album Sales and No. 29 on Top Album Sales. It earned 5,000 equivalent album units, nearly all from album sales, in the United States its first full tracking week (May 12-18), according to Luminate. Of its sales, 4,000 were on vinyl, and the set also starts at No. 10 on the Vinyl Albums chart."

Billboard also clarified that "While this marks the group’s first foray onto Billboard’s charts under the Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem artist billing, the act has appeared on multiple Muppet-related albums that have charted."

"Emmet Otter" Takes The Stage This Winter in Chicago!

The stage version of Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas is set to return this winter in Chicago. 

Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas play returns in the windy city's newly renovated Studebaker Theater.

The show has music and lyrics by Academy Award winner Paul Williams and a book by Timothy Allen McDonald and Christopher Gattelli, who will also direct and choreograph.

The live Emmet Otter stage production previously played at the Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut in 2008 and was well-received off-Broadway at the New York’s New Victory Theater in Dec. of 2021.

The show has been developed further since the New Victory engagement and will feature a fresh cast.

Performances are to begin around Thanksgiving and run at least through the end of the year, with dates, details and ticket prices to be announced. 

Tickets will go on sale in July at fineartsbuilding.com/studebaker

Best in Snow – a competition special about people building snow sculptures featuring an appearance by Kermit, and Foodtastic – a cooking competition reality show with a Muppet-themed finale with appearances by Kermit, Piggy, Gonzo, and the Swedish Chef are also being removed. 

We're not sure if hey will be added back to service at a latter date or picked up by another service, but we advise to watch them while you can. 

Earth to Ned and the other series listed will be removed from Disney+ May 26.

The Muppet Show Backstage Deluxe Figure Box Set!

Diamond Select Toys is releasing a set of Muppet action figures packaged to look like the backstage of The Muppet Show.

If you haven't picked up these figures yet, this is a great way to display them, unfortunately it's not a playset as many have asked for, not does it come the accessories the previous releases had.

The Electric Mayhem Makes Billboard Charts!

Billboard revealed the soundtrack for The Muppets Mayhem entered its charts, joining 15 other first timers.

The soundtrack entered the Kids Album chart at No. 13.

Fresh off the premiere of the new Disney+ comedy musical series The Muppets Mayhem on May 10, Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem are now, officially, Billboard-charting artists – nearly a half-century after their on-screen debut. 

The group enters the Kid Albums chart at No. 13 with the series’ companion soundtrack, The Muppets Mayhem: Music From the Disney+ Original Series, which also arrived May 10, on Disney+/Walt Disney Records.

The 22-track set includes 17 songs credited to Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem, plus five scores by Mick Giacchino. While some songs are original compositions for the series, others are covers of classics by The Beach Boys, Cyndi Lauper, Simon & Garfunkel, The Who and more.

Miss Piggy Shows Her PRIDE!

To celebrate PRIDE month Disney released a line of items featuring Miss Piggy.

Piggy is one of four characters in the PRIDE wave of Cutie Cuffs. Each "cuff" is a small plush with arms that can wrap around and attach to other objects.

While previous releases came in mystery packs, the PRIDE line uses uses translucent plastic so you can see which character is inside. 

Disney also released a Miss Piggy "fierce and fabulous" PRIDE pin.

We miss you Jim!

Another May 16th is upon us Muppet fans. A day to reflect on Jim Henson's passing and the creative legacy he left behind. 

As we all know, Jim gifted the world with many characters and advances in puppetry techniques over his lifetime. It was his very first show, Sam and Friends, that gave us a character now known around the world and changed the way puppets are seen on screen.

The Mayhem Rocks Their Premiere!

The night before The Muppets Mayhem premiered, Disney held a premiere party at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Adam F. Goldberg (Executive Producer), Jeff Yorkes (Co-Executive Producer) and Bill Barretta (Executive Producer/Dr. Teeth) welcomed everyone to the event and introduced the audience to the first two episodes.

   

Afterwards Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem took to the stage and performed a couple songs.

Guests could even take pictures with The Electric Mayhem's van, stage, and bus!

Muppets Mayhem Reviews!

The Muppets Mayhem has been out for a day and I'm sure most of you have watched it and have your own opinions about the show. 

But, lets see what some of the critics had to say.
