Ron Howard's long awaited documentary, Jim Henson: Idea Man is streaming now on Disney+!

In anticipation for audiences to further explore the Muppet catalog, Disney+ also added the Muppet Collection banner to the home screen (it was already previously available via the search).

But that's not all. Disney Music is releasing David Fleming’s soundtrack score as well. The soundtrack is available now digitally on all music platforms.

Muppets Mayhem Soundtrack Walmart Exclusive Picture Disc!

Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem's first album came out earlier this summer in both a regular and Target exclusive. Did you wonder why it wasn't also available at Walmart?

Well we did, and now we know why. Walmart just announced they're going to have their own exclusive picture disc feature the band.

Walmart's listing has conflicted dates for it's release. It'll either be released as part of their Collector Con new releases on 10/13 beginning at 7am PST or on 10/27.

Electric Mayhem Releases Spotify Exclusive Single!

The Electric Mayhem released a new Spotify exclusive single. 

The song is an acoustic version of the The Muppets Mayhem theme song "Rock On,"

You can listen the single above with a Spotify account. 

Below you see the band take over Spotify's studio to record the song with cameos by Bobby Moynihan, Ricco, and more. 

The Electric Mayhem Hits No. 1!

Last week, Dr. Teeth and Electric Mayhem's first album entered the kid's Billboard chart at number 13 and now it's jumped all the way to number 1!

That's right, according to Billboard Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem are now #1 selling artists!

"The Muppets Mayhem: Music From the Disney+ Original Series jumps from No. 13 to No. 1 on the Kid Albums chart, leading for the first time.

The album concurrently debuts at No. 10 on the Soundtracks chart, No. 23 on Top Current Album Sales and No. 29 on Top Album Sales. It earned 5,000 equivalent album units, nearly all from album sales, in the United States its first full tracking week (May 12-18), according to Luminate. Of its sales, 4,000 were on vinyl, and the set also starts at No. 10 on the Vinyl Albums chart."

Billboard also clarified that "While this marks the group’s first foray onto Billboard’s charts under the Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem artist billing, the act has appeared on multiple Muppet-related albums that have charted."

The Electric Mayhem Makes Billboard Charts!

Billboard revealed the soundtrack for The Muppets Mayhem entered its charts, joining 15 other first timers.

The soundtrack entered the Kids Album chart at No. 13.

Fresh off the premiere of the new Disney+ comedy musical series The Muppets Mayhem on May 10, Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem are now, officially, Billboard-charting artists – nearly a half-century after their on-screen debut. 

The group enters the Kid Albums chart at No. 13 with the series’ companion soundtrack, The Muppets Mayhem: Music From the Disney+ Original Series, which also arrived May 10, on Disney+/Walt Disney Records.

The 22-track set includes 17 songs credited to Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem, plus five scores by Mick Giacchino. While some songs are original compositions for the series, others are covers of classics by The Beach Boys, Cyndi Lauper, Simon & Garfunkel, The Who and more.

Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem, which made their first televised appearance in the pilot of The Muppet Show in 1975 (and recently dished to Billboard about “the frog,” Miss Piggy and more), comprises Dr. Teeth (performed, originally, by Jim Henson and now by Bill Barretta), Animal (Frank Oz, now Eric Jacobson), Floyd Pepper (Jerry Nelson, now Matt Vogel), Janice (Richard Hunt, now David Rudman), Zoot (Dave Goelz) and Lips (Steve Whitmire, now Peter Linz).

Electric Mayhem LP Cover Art Revealed!

Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem's first vinyl release comes out this Friday and today Disney officially revealed the cover art. 

Below is the official description: 

After 45 years of rockin’ out, The Electric Mayhem — Dr. Teeth on vocals and keyboards, Animal on drums, Floyd Pepper on vocals and bass, Janice on vocals and lead guitar, Zoot on saxophone and Lips on trumpet — goes on an epic, music-filled journey to record their first-ever studio album. With the help of a driven young music executive, Nora, the old-school Muppet band comes face to face with the current day music scene as they try to finally go platinum. 

 

The vinyl comes in two variations - Translucent Purple/Blue Swirl available at Amazon, Target, and Disney Music Emporium and a Poison Dart Frog Green vinyl that is a 2 LP Target exclusive. 

The Translucent Purple/Blue Swirl is $19.98 at Amazon and Target and $24.98 Disney Music Emporium, while the Poison Dart Frog Green Target exclusive is $22.99.

Target even has the album in their ad for the week.

Fraggle Rock: Night of the Lights (apple Original Series Soundtrack)!

Lakeshore records is releasing a soundtrack album for the upcoming Fraggle Rock: Night of the Lights special. 

 

As of now the album is a digital only release and features two songs

"Night of the Lights" an entirely new song and "Magic Be with You" which has been reworked from the original series.

iam8bit Exclusive Muppet Movie Vinyl Soundtrack!

iam8bit is releasing an exclusive remastered vinyl record of The Muppet Movie soundtrack. 

The classic soundtrack with songs by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher has been completely remastered and reimagined for the first time in over 40 years specifically for vinyl. 

After the success with their Muppet Christmas Carol vinyl soundtrack in November iam8bit has once again teamed up with Kevin Wilson to produce art work for the release. Unlike the re-use of Wilson's already produced Muppet Christmas Carol art work though, his art for this release seems to to brand new. 

The front features Kermit on his log singing "Rainbow Connection", the back features Kermit and Fozzie in Fozzie's uncle's Studebaker at the fork in the road next to a Doc Hopper's Frog leg's billboard.

The inside sleeve features Kermit and Miss Piggy dining by candlelight on one side,

while the other features Gonzo in the desert singing "I'm going to go back there someday."

The inside labels feature Scooter with his clapboard denoting each side of the record.

Early Christmas Present: The Muppet Christmas Carol Gets Vinyl Release!

The Muppets Studio and Walt Disney Records have teamed up with iam8bit to release a remastered version The Muppet Christmas Carol soundtrack on vinyl.

This vinyl reissue contains all the classic Paul Williams songs completely remastered while the jacket features an illustration by Kevin Wilson released a few years ago as an unofficial print.

The inside sleeve features an illustration of Kermit gazing at the shooting star from the film and the center-label features Statler and Waldorf as Jacob and Robert Marley.

iam8bit will have two exclusive versions a “Ghosts of Christmas Blue” Blue Vinyl and a "Ghosts of Christmas Yet" to Come Red Vinyl.

Other distribution partners and retailers will have green variant.

The Muppet Christmas Carol vinyl soundtrack goers for $29.99 and will be available through iam8bit November 26 at 9 a.m. PT.
