Throwback Thursday: 1980 Hallmark Summer Button!

Sunday marked the first day of summer and yesterday we showed you the first glimpse of the buttons being given away at the "Mobile Muppet Theater," so how about a Throwback Thursday that combines them!

This "Summer's My 2nd Favorite Thing!" button released in 1980 features Kermit and Miss Piggy. It was part of Hallmark's large line of Muppet products released between 1980 and 1982.

Throwback Thursday: Cookie Monster Ben Cooper Mask!

Children's costume company Ben Cooper produced a series of Sesame Street costumes in 1980 including this Cookie Monster costume. 

The set came with a mask of Cookie Monster with a baker's hat and a smock with and apron with Cookies in the pocket. 

Throwback Thursday: Original Muppet Movie VHS!

Muppets Most Wanted made it's first ever home video debut this week on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Copy. When the Muppet's first theatrical film, The Muppet Movie made it's home video video debut in 1980, there were two home video formats - VHS and the 
less successful Betamax. 

The Muppet Movie was released on both taped-based formats by Magnetic Video.

There were no special features, behind the scenes footage, blooper reels, outtakes, 
or commentaries. The special feature was being able to watch the movie at home whenever you wanted.
