Coming Soon: Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas 40th Anniversary DVD!

It seems that every few years the classic special Emmett Otter's Jug-Band Christmas gets released on home video.

This is year, Sony will handle the "40th Anniversary" edition release. Not only has the special been completely remastered, but all of Kermit's scenes are intact as well!

The listing states the aspect ratio at 1.78:1, which is in between it's original ratio of 4:3 and the typical 1:85 widescreen.

Bonus features include:
  • “Behind the Scenes in Frogtown Hollow” Featurette
  • Deleted/Alternate Scenes
  • Outtakes
  • Lost Song: “Born in a Trunk”

Most of the bonus features have been carried over from the 2005 "Collector's Edition" release, but with Kermit confirmed, if you've been holding out for a official release with his scene, this is the version to get!

Emmett Otter's Jug-Band Christmas 40th Anniversary DVD (with Kermit) will be released September 9th, and you can pre-order it now through Amazon.

Sesame Street - The Together Book - Gets Special Re-issue!

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Little Golden Books, and to celebrate they are re-releasing select titles!

Little Golden Book's Sesame Street "The Together Book" was one of the first Sesame Books ever released.

The official synopsis:A classic Sesame Street Little Golden Book about cooperation and friendship returns—just in time for the 75th-anniversary celebration of Little Golden Books!
One of the first two Sesame Street Little Golden Books ever published—in 1971, along with The Monster at the End of this Book—returns just in time for the 75th-anniversary celebration of Little Golden Books, with the classic Sesame themes of working together, cooperation, problem solving, and friendship. Girls and boys ages 2 to 5 will see how the Sesame Street Muppets solve problems by sharing tasks, from pushing a heavy wagon to drinking a milkshake that's too big for one. Sesame Street's original fans will welcome the return of this vintage classic with nostalgia and delight, and new fans will be charmed—and fascinated—by the retro look of their favorite Sesame Street characters: Big Bird, Grover, Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster, Betty Lou, Little Bird, Herry, Sherlock Hemlock, and Roosevelt Franklin.
Sesame Street first harnessed the power of media to educate children more than four decades ago, changing children’s television forever. Populated with furry creatures and a diverse cast, it was the first show of its kind and provided a blueprint for educational media for generations. There are more than 90 million Sesame Street “graduates” in the United States alone, and fans old and young can find their favorite fuzzy friends on PBS, HBO, Sesame’s award-winning website and chart-topping YouTube channels, as well as in books, toys, apps, healthy foods, and other products that benefit preschoolers and their families.
Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, aims to help kids grow smarter, stronger, and kinder through its many unique domestic and international initiatives. These projects cover a wide array of topics, which address specific needs, such as girls’ education, financial empowerment, and autism. In 2019, Sesame Street will celebrate its 50th year of distributing quality educational content to families around the world.
"The Together Book"'s 75th anniversary edition will be released on July 25., but you can pre-order it here.
