A New Year, New Calendars!

The new year has begun and it's time to update the calendar on your wall. 

First, is the previously mentioned Muppet calendar by Danilo.

You won't find it at your local mall kiosk, though. Like last year, the Muppet calendar is only available from the UK. However, Amazon has it available for fans in the US.

The Dark Crystal has new calendar for 2019. 

You can find it online through many through many retailers including Amazon.

There is also 2019 Labyrinth calendar.

It's hard to call this a "new" calendar though, as it features the same images as last year, but with different designs and graphics around them.

Finally, we have the "2019 Sesame Street Activity Calendar: Monthly Fun for the Whole Family!" which offers a new family friendly activity each month.

It's available in stores and online including Amazon.

The Muppets 2019 Calendar!

A new year is rapidly approaching and we all know that a new year means a new Muppet calendar.

Sadly, once again you won't find the new Muppet calendar at your local mall kiosk. Like last year, The Muppets have only one calendar, and it's only available from the UK. 

All it not lost though, as a few Amazon sellers have it available for us fans in the US. 

New Year, New Calendars!

As the first week of 2017 comes to close, we wanted to make sure you dress up your bare walls (no it's a not it's a wearin' a neckatie)!

And while we already previewed each of the new Muppet calendars below, we wanted to put them all together, as well and mention a one we missed. 

As we covered back in October, Day Dream's 2017 Muppet calendar uses a nice mix of standard stock images with some less seen illustrated  version of the characters.

Hallmark's 2017 calendar comes in both regular and mini sizes!

For UK fans, Danilo's 2017 Muppet calendar uses stock photos over blurred backgrounds, giving them some nice depth and contrast. 

As we mentioned in November, it's also a parody of Instagram as the Muppets leave comments on each image.

Our last Muppet calendar is the 2017 "Muppets Familienplaner" from KV&H Verlag in Germany. 

Germany's familienplaner is a very large rectangle instead of the tradition square. Here's a look at them all together:

And that's it for 2017, there's apparently not a Sesame Street calendar this year, but we hear there's one coming for 2018.

On a side note, wouldn't it be nice if the Henson company put out a calendar featuring/ promoting their properties? How about a 30th Anniversary calendar for Labyrinth or The Dark Crystal's upcoming 35th anniversary?

The Muppets 2017 Wall Calendar by Danilo!

Danilo also has a new 2017 Muppet calendar for UK fans.

This year they'e using stock photos over blurred backgrounds, giving them some nice depth and contrast. 

It's also an Instagram parody as the Muppets leave comments on the image. These small touches give the images more life then we've seen in the past.

It seems Danili also decided to use a much less used image for August, which is nice to see as well.

Danilo's 2017 Muppet calendar is now available in the UK and from third party Amazon sellers. 

Muppets 2016 Calendar by Danilo!

No, you're seeing things, there's another Muppet calendar coming out for 2016!

If you're counting at come this makes it the fourth Muppet calendar released this year. I think that may be a new record, and that's not including the small version of the Hallmark calendar or any international versions! UPDATE: This is a UK calendar. 

Like the calendar by Day Dreams, Danilo's 2016 Muppet calendar uses a bunch of the same stock photos we've seen over and over, though this one also uses stills from the last two movies. It also includes a Fozzie image we haven't seen much, Mahna Mahna and the Snowths, and Walter!

I know, many people were disappointed Walter wasn't included in the Day Dreams calendar and has yet to appear in the new Muppet series. Hopefully this shows he hasn't been forgotten by the folks at Disney.

Another 2015 "Muppets Most Wanted" Calendar!

Remember how we said "2015 will see a new Muppet calendar based on Muppets Most Wanted!" and that "this is the first calender in many years that doesn't feature over used stock photography!" If you need a refresher click here.

Well, for all those fans that complain about the UK "getting all the good stuff" this one's for you! 

The 2015 Danilo "Muppets Most Wanted"  features all the over used stock photography a Muppet fan could ask for. Other then the small photos from Muppets Most Wanted this calendar could have been released anytime in the past few years.  

The image choices with the featured Muppet are questionable at best. Fozzie, Piggy, Rowlf, Animal, Gonzo and Pepe's (barely) pages feature images of them from the movie. Bunsen and Beaker's contains them from a group shot and an deleted scene with 80's Robot. 

While the Swedish Chef's page features him in a group shot and Napoleon's car?, Sam Eagle shows himself from the promo poster and Gonzo & Fozzie? (what no shot Napoleon? More on that later), Statler and Waldorf's page also features their photo and Miss Piggy? from the promo poster, and Janice and Floyd's page has Janice's shot from the promo poster while Floyd's shot may actually be from the movie!

Lastly we come to Kermit's page which features a shot of him and Miss Piggy but the other shot is of Constantine from in the Spanish Muppet Show opening, who, along with Walter and the human costars are suspiciously absent from the calendar. 

I think the lack of the humans may have to do with licensing rights, but not including Walter and Constatine who are in the movie much more then the Swedish Chef, Pepe, Janice, Floyd, or Statler and Waldorf as popular with long time fans they may be.  

Those factors along with the way the logo is arranged on the front of the calendar lead me to believe that this is less a Muppets Most Wanted calendar, and more a "Muppets: Most Wanted" calendar. Made for casual Muppet fans filled with popular characters but not necessarily for fans of the movie.
