"Jim Henson Idea Man" Wins Outstanding Documentary Emmy!

Ron Howard's Jim Henson Idea Man won 4 Emmys over the weekend.


The Disney+ produced documentary won Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program, Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (original dramatic score), Outstanding Sound Editing for a Nonfiction or Reality Program, and the top price Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special.


In a statement, Howard commented, “Jim Henson was a creative genius and artistic pioneer, and we set out to make an ambitious, comprehensive documentary worthy of this incredibly imaginative storyteller. It has been a thrill to revisit his work, and to see new audiences discover him and just how much his innovations in television still have an impact today. It’s been an amazing journey for this film. A heartfelt congratulations to the entire team!”

In addition to the Emmys won on Saturday, Jim Henson Idea Man won a juried award for 
Outstanding Motion Capture, last month.

“Jim Henson Idea Man” To Make Broadcast Premiere!

According to Deadline, Ron Howard's Emmy nominated documentary Jim Henson Idea Man is set to make its broadcast debut Sunday, August 11 as part of ABC's "The Wonderful World of Disney."

 
The film is the most Emmy nominated documentary this year with eight nominations, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special, Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program, and Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program.


Emmys in the documentary categories will be presented at the 76th Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 7 and 8 while the Primetime Emmys will air on ABC on September 15.

The Emmy nominated Jim Henson: Idea Man is streaming now on Disney+.

Street Gang Wins an Emmy!

Over the weekend Street Gang: How We Got To Sesame Street won an Emmy Award.


The film won for Outstanding Arts and Culture Documentary against the following films:

  • MSNBC Films MSNBC: Paper and Glue

  • The One and Only Dick Gregory, Showtime

  • The Real Charlie Chaplin, Showtime

Sesame Street Gets Two Primetime Emmy Nominations!

The nominees for the 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced and When You Wish Upon a Pickle, Sesame Street’s recent primetime special, received  two nominations.


Eric Jacobson has been nominated for his "voice-over performance"of Bert, Grover, and Oscar, while the special itself was nominated for "Outstanding Children’s Program."

They won best Children's Program for their primetime special The Magical Wand Chase: A Sesame Street Special

Sesame Street Will Chace Another Emmy!

We all know Sesame Street get nominated, and wins, plenty of daytime Emmys, but this year they've been nominated again for a primetime special!


You may recall that Sesame Street won a primetime Emmy l
ast year for their HBO special Once Upon a Sesame Street Christmas, and this year their latest special, The Magical Wand Chase, is nominated as well.

The Sesame gang is nominated in the “Outstanding Children’s Program” category where, they're up 
against Alexa & Katie, Fuller HouseA Series of Unfortunate Events, and Star Wars: Rebels.


The Emmy Awards will be held on September 17th on NBC.

Sesame Street Wins Primetime Emmy!

The prime time Emmy awards aired Sunday, but you wouldn't know Sesame Street won a statuette by watching it.

That's because Outstanding Children's Program, the category they were nominated in, is part of the Creative Arts Emmy awards ceremony that takes place a week before the live prime time celebrity filled special. 

Sesame latest addition to it's massive trophy case is for it's latest holiday special Once Upon a Sesame Street Christmas.
They beat out Girl Meets World, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 90th anniversary special, School of Rock, and Star Wars: Rebels.

ABC's The Muppets Nominated For An Emmy!

The 2016 Emmy Award nominees were announced yesterday, and the nominees for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Program (Half-Hour Or Less) are  (drum roll please)

Veep


Yes, you read that correctly. Despite ABC's decision to cancel the series, The Muppets has been nominated for an Emmy!


You may recall the show won an Art Directors Guild award in February, where they were also up against Transparent and Veep
