Guests will be able to enjoy special after-hours admission to the Museum’s spectacular The Jim Henson Exhibition; a behind-the-scenes presentation to kick off the film; a special screening of The Muppet Christmas Carol; and a commemorative gift. It also includes materials from Henson’s experimental film projects and his early work, presenting him as a restlessly creative performer, filmmaker, and technical innovator.

D23 Muppet Christmas Carol 30th Anniversary!

Christmas came early this year as D23 celebrated The Muppet Christmas Carol's 30th anniversary. 

Director Brian Henson, songwriter Paul Williams, costume designer Polly Smith, Muppet Performer Dave Goelz, joined host Nina West to talk about the film's enduring appeal.

Disney Legend Jodi Benson performed "When Love is Gone."

And Nina West and the Muppets closed the panel with a medley of the movie's songs. 

It was also reveled that the full version of the film- including "When Love is Gone" - will debut on Disney+ in December.

The full version of The Muppet Christmas Carol - including  "When Love is Gone" will debut on Disney+ December 11th - exactly 30 years after the film's initial theatrical release.

Labyrinth's 30th Anniversary!

30 years ago today, the world first entered the word of Labyrinth. I remember exactly where I saw it (it's now a Walgreens - natch) and it was the 2nd, possibly third (Follow that Bird, and Muppets Take Manhattan being other two) Henson film I had the pleasure of seeing in a theater!

In celebration of today's anniversary, River Horse has unveiled a sneak peak at the final lineup of Goblins in the expansion pack (sold separately) to their upcoming Labyrinth board game!

While not an initial box office success, it's great that so many people have found the film since. 

Personally, though I loved it from the start. My birthday cake that year even featured my favorite character from the film!

New Labyrinth 30th Anniversary Blu-ray Coming Soon!

According to USAToday, Labyrinth will be getting a new 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray in September along with a special theatrical re-release!

The Blu-ray will be a 24 page digibook with rare behind-the-scenes photos, an anniversary Q&A hosted by MythBusters' Adam Savage, Jennifer Connelly and the Henson family discussing Jim Henson's puppetry and filmmaking, a David Bowie remembrance by Connelly and Henson's children. The set will also include content found on the previous releases such as the making-of documentary and commentary by designer Brian Froud.

The film will also be get a theatrical re-release thanks to Fathom Events September 11th and 14th and some of the new bonus features will be shown as well. 

If that weren't enough, Amazon will have a limited-edition "mirrorbox" Blu-ray set with packaging based on the final scene from the film.

The set will be released September 20th!
