Muppet Stuff's 2021 Year in News!

Before we get too far into the new year, let's take a moment and look back at 2021.

Barely before the year even began, Kermit and Fozzie got things started and "moved us right along" from 2020 and into 2021:

2021 in News:

Frank Oz's film version of Derek Delgaudio's play In & of Itself premiered on Hulu.

Dinosaurs came to Disney+ , then The Muppet Show! The later came with a few warnings about harmful stereotypes. (conservatives lost their minds).

(once again conservatives lost their minds)

Pride came to Sesame Street as Sesame Street (finally) introduced a gay couple.
(and again, conservatives lost their minds).

The Jim Henson Company is developing "Jelly Bean Dream Machine" (working title), a new series with poet Kwame Alexander.

Baby Gonzo wore a dress (conservatives lost their minds),

and Muppet fan Emily Engel's made an amazing Muppet replica plush benefit The Trevor Project

Jim Henson’s London Home Honored with English Heritage Plaque

This year saw the Muppets' first Halloween special Muppets Haunted Mansion and with it the return of Sal Manilla and Dr. Phil Van Neuter.

The Jim Henson Company announced an upcoming stop-motion animated series "How to Make Friends with a Ghost."

Sadly, we lost a few people who worked alongside the Muppets this year.

2021 In Memoriam:

all that and The Muppets Studio got a new logo!

As you can see a lot happened last year.

Looking ahead there's new Fraggle Rock series Fraggle Rock: Back to The Rock, Labyrinth action figures and a chess set, more Storyteller comics, The Dark Crystal’s 40th anniversary, and much more still to be announced.

So goodbye 2021, let's hope 2022 brings even more great things from our favorite felt friends.
